Did anyone notice this mistake?

What I liked about this movie is that for once, robots don't talk or do things by will. They're "empty", and move according to the remote control or the voice of the operator. So, how did Atom catch Max when he was falling?

Also, at the final boxing game, during the shadowboxing round, it's so obvious that Atom couldn't see Charlie all the time. Just saying.
And also, Charlie's robots were getting destroyed by robots far weaker than Twin Cities and Zeus. And Atom lasted in one piece for so long against those beasts? Ok, ok, I know, stupid questions.

It was my understanding that Atom's arm was just resting out over the edge of the drop, and that Max happened to have the good fortune to be stopped by the arm. Atom never reached out to grab Max. A few scenes after they had to re- power Atom up which helps support this.

As with the final round of the Zeus vs Atom fight, Charlie seamed to be moving around the edge of the ring and if memory recalls correctly Atom is always watching Charlie, never Zeus from that point on therefor always having 'eye contact' on Charlie to control the shadow boxing.

And with the logic of how Atom could survive what Noisy Boy and Ambush could not, during the early fights Charlie was fighting arrogantly with a lot of flare but with no real fight plan, just brute force. Later while Max was controlling Atom Charlie was more invested in the matches. I believe Charlie never really wanted to break Max's heart by having Atom destroyed in front of him and therefore gave Max tips based of his former boxing career on how to win. Additionally, while Atom was only ever intended on being a sparing robot, it's built to take a lot of punishment. What trainer would want a Sparing robot that couldn’t take the punishment his fighting robot could dish out? To me it just seams no-one ever had the thought of loading a bunch of fighting moves into Atom and seeing how he did till Max came along.

It's obvious that there were some moments where Atom couldn't see Charlie during the last fight. At least not clearly enough to copy his moves.

Again, there was no way Atom could survive Twin Cities' and Zeus' punches without very heavy damage (at least). There was no attempt from the scriptwriters to convince us of how he survived. To me it's like they're saying "well, he survives because he's the good guy!".
But anyway, if they could build a "sparing" robot to take less damage...why didn't they build the other fighting ones like that? I mean "oh, this is a boxing robot, build it so it takes more damage than a sparing one"? It doesn't make sense.

The more money someone has, the strongest robot he builds. Zeus was a much higher stronger robot than Atom. I'll buy that Atom, with the help of Charlie's shadowboxing could beat it with techniques, but I can't buy that he was taking all those heavy punches during the first rounds and his head didn't go off. Have you any idea how much Zeus' arms weigh? I don't, but they're VERY heavy.

reply

I believe Zeus' arms are very heavy too.

I know. I was trying to be a smartass but I think I failed.

Or, I dunno, putting that armor on, like, a fighting robot?
