Hell No!

Don't even begin to compare Matrix to this movie. For the time being there is no movie(in Indian Cinema) that goes with Matrix's standards.Sure some stunts in this movie were good but heck they weren't remotely close to what Matrix was.

I'm a matrix lover, and obviously the special effects in a movie that had a $10.2 million budget cannot be compared to The Matrix ($63 million budget) in terms of special effects, but in terms of the setting the standards of a new technological era, and breaking through with a new genre (something The Matrix did not do for Hollywood) this was groundbreaking.

Here is how I feel about Special effects. They are not neccesary and you shouldn't use them if they aren't perfect.

This movie used special effects just for using it sake. Plus, the thing that I liked about the Matrix HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH SPECIAL EFFECTS. While they were good, the story is what was compelling.

THe storyline for Krrish goes down in history as one of the biggests turds ever.

There certainly was some borrowing of Chinese-style special effects fight scenes (also borrowed by The Matrix a few years ago). But I disagree about the music. I didn't appeal to me as much as the soundtrack to Koi... Mil Gaya at first, but it has grown on me since I listened to the cd soundtrack on its own. Now I can't stop listening to it!

I think that many of the complaints about the music in the film come from those unaccustomed to Indian cinema. The music and dance routines are as common as fight scenes or car chases, love scenes, or whatever other typical elements you want to compare with other countries' films. Like food or wine, some film styles will not appeal to everyone. But if you have an appreciation for the formula in general, you can move beyond it to assess the film's merits.

Perhaps films like Krrish are opening up the Indian cinema world to a wider audience, so there is going to be an adjustment period for those unfamiliar with the style of movie-making. Personally, I love this mix of genres in one film. Where is Krrish 2?!!!
