bournvita and tide advertising

This movie was on very late last night on Channel 4 and I started watching out of curiosity. I began to notice blatent advertising in some scenes, like the child being served 'cadbury's bournvita' hot drink, and the grandmother using tide soap powder, with labels strategically placed in camera shot.

It's the first time i've seen this kind of advertising used in films, and i found it quite unbelievable as i've always associated it with the satirical portrayal of advertising used in films such as 'the truman show' with Jim carrey.

Is this recurrent in bollywood films? and if so does it bother many viewers?

I noticed the Bournvita and I saw it for the first time on Channel 4 at 1am last night, but advertising occurs so frequently in films from around the world that I just bite my lip and try to enjoy the film.

Wasn't that camcorder Cannon or something?

I am not East Indian but I love Bollywood films and since I've started watching Bollywood films (around 2002) I always noticed advertising esp. the huge advertisements for Coke (Coca Cola) soft drinks. . .you would have thought that East Indians drank only Coke when it came to soft drinks. Funny thing is that I never noticed (or perhaps paid attention) to various product advertising in Hollywood films. . .probably b/c it's natural to see actors/actresses drinking a PEPSI or Coke or brushing their teeth with Colgate, etc, in a Hollywood film.

The most obvious reason for the amount of advertising that you saw in this movie or any other Bollywood film is that these companies are sponsoring or investing in the making of the film(s). When making movies, like developing other types of businesses, people want investors. These companies obviously invested in the making of Krrish and so as a thank you to them for their support, the producer(s) advertise the companies' products in their movies. Also, the investors want to see their products on screen hence the amount and/or form of advertising that you see. I hope my explanation helped!

On another note, why is there a pic of Aishwarya Rai on this site? She wasn't even in the movie!!
