omg talk about crap

mild spoilers

now this is the first time i m posting a bullettin thingymagic on imdb so ignore the inexperienced words or approach or whatever but seriously krissh suckkkkked, i could not believe that critics actually praised and its box office success has left me dumbfounded.......

now i watched koi mil gaya with slight apprehension as i knew how some indian directors can tread new territories like sci fi and generate , well to be polite, the source of bio gas :P but admittedly despite the woeful humour the actors n the script (okay so it was et with a retard) kept the movie interesting and i even found myself cheering for hrithik during the basketball match

i thought great film, but shoddy in parts but enjoyable nonetheless, when i heard of krrish and saw the trailer, i did not expect much in terms of action as having watched the matrix like any normal human being, i felt that the action would leave a lot to be desired. i was more excited about the script and the acting and any koi mil gaya like moments that would make me wanna jump up n cheer

but did i *bleep* cheer? did i*bleep* spend a single moment not cringing? hrithik is my favourite actor and he did do a good job, no doubt. but OMG the script was &*&T*(&^ arya wants a computer that can see into the future, oh wow bad guy, he can now bet on his favourite horse n win everytime, surely for this we need a superhero wearing the remains of a circus tent on his face 2 save day ! whoo hoo excuse my excitement (sarcasm galore)

the dialogues were some of the worst i have ever heard, the comdey was so pathetic that i was laughing for all the wrong reasons. but oh the dialogues,

does the indian audience constitue of 3 year olds with learning disabilities? whoever wrote the dialogues seemed to think so, every question was asked slowly and every answer was given in full sentences usnig all the words from the question

avenger93 i pity you, that you have to put up with fools who claim this to be a masterpiece, hrithik is my favourite actor andi thought that he must be nuts telling everyone that this movie is great!

anyway, i can only hope they employ better people to deal witht the dialogues and story next time cuz honestly, i hate puking in the cinema

phew long thread, chuck us some replies then

very good comment about this piece of trash. But I am still not understanding how the hell this movie became hit.I think those people who liked this movie are those who don't understand english language and due to this haven't watched any hollywood movies because there is nothing new in this movie and this movie is a copy of all the superheroes of dc and marvel comics.

reply

Not really... They wanted to bring the sci-fi genre into India, and actually, no one can really make a superhero movie anymore because of DC comics, now any superhero is said to be "copied". Anyway, I liked it, and i REALLY know english. Plus, I watch movies from all over the world, I'm not a dumb person who just watches one and says, well, i guess it's the best! (Not callin you dumb, btw). Anyway, I don't know why you would watch Indian movies if you really dislike em so much...

I was quite intrigued about the flicks this fillum reputedly rips off. I myself LOATHED paycheck and I'm a huge of the Author of paycheck, Philip K Dick. I also loathed the original short story Paycheck's based on, (the only philip k dick story I hated. Other films based on Philip K Dick stories include Blade runner, Total Recall, Salute of the Jugger, Minority report, A scanner darkly and Screamers) and let's face it all those hollywood superheros start to merge into one another after awhile.

I enjoyed this flick purely on entertainment value and being a big assed dumb white guy I ONLY know english.

What a load of crap. Go watch both Krrish and Paycheck before making such a ridiculous comparison. The only thing both have in common is a machine that can predict the future, which Minority Report and a number of other movies before them also had.

And for your information, the core plot of Krrish is based on the ancient Hindu story of Krishna, not some random Hollywood movie. The story of Krishna dates back to the ancient Sanskrit epic "Mahabharata", over 2,000 years before Hollywood even existed! The story of Krishna was about a king who saw the future and attemped to prevent his death, but his attempts at killing Krishna is what leads to the prophecy coming true, exactly like what happened in Krrish. Krrish is merely a modern take on the story of Krishna, and even the main character is named after Krishna.

As for Krrish's superhuman abilities, they are based on Hanuman, the ancient Hindu monkey-god from the ancient Sanskrit epic "Ramayana". Hanuman had superhuman strength, could fly, and had many other superpowers, over 2,000 years before Superman or any other American superhero ever existed! As for Tarzan, he was ripped-off from Mowgli, the Indian jungle boy in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. Krrish's animal-like abilities are obviously based on Hanuman and Mowgli, not Tarzan!

Even E.T. was ripped-off from the Bengali science fiction story "Bankubabur Bandhu" by Satyajit Ray. Satyajit Ray was adapting his story into a movie script called "The Alien" in the 1960s, but the movie was cancelled and instead became E.T. in the 1980s. Koi Mil Gaya is based on Satyajit Ray's The Alien, not E.T., as The Alien was about a mental retard coming in contact with a friendly alien, exactly like Koi Mil Gaya.

Almost everything about both Krrish and its prequel Koi Mil Gaya have an Indian origin. I suggest you go read about the Mahabharata, Ramayana, The Jungle Book or The Alien (or watch their film/television adaptations) before making anymore ridiculous comparisons to some random Hollywood movie.

"WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM???!!!!!"

reply

I was just about to say something similar, just because Hollywood did something earlier did not mean they did it first. Everything in Hollywood is ripped off from historical legend and when you compare the history of the USA (235 years?) and the history of India (several millenia) you quickly realise that if anything India has more right to the stories.
