Are you KIDDING ME!?? Katie Holmes and Lindsay Lohan!?

"Katie Holmes was originally set to play Edie Sedgwick, but dropped out due to her conflicting religious beliefs with the character's drug-addiction. Holmes also became pregnant right before filming was scheduled to begin."

"Lindsay Lohan was considered for the lead role, and even screen tested for the part in 2005, but producers felt she was not right."

ARE YOU F'ing kidding me???? Katie Holmes is 5'9, not slim enough by a longshot to play Edie...Oh...not to mention SHE LOOKS NOTHING LIKE HER!!!!!!! Not to mention she has zero acting ability...

And dont even get me started on Lindsay Lohan....GOOD LORD.......as much as I dont like Sienna "snob" Miller, I thank GOD that they casted her instead...Even though she, and the movie SUCKED anyway....with ONE notable accepion: Guy Pearce as a "young" Warhol....Hes great in everything......

I think Holmes needs to get a life, pulling out because of her religious views. It's called acting, it's her job and it doesn't mean she condones the behaviour portrayed. I'm a vegetarian and firmly believe that killing animals for food is wrong but if I were an actress I would be prepared to portray a character who ate meat so long as I didn't actually have to do it. But then given her chosen religion it's not surprising she takes things a bit far.

Katie Holmes is not slim? What an odd thing to say.

What you're saying is true, but WHO in Hollywood COULD play Edie Sedgwick?? I can't think of anybody known that can touch Edie in the looks department. no actress working now is as beautiful as Sedgwick. Sienna Miller, even with the tons of makeup and camera tricks they used, possessed only the slightest resemblance. but her face looked way too "old" to play Edie. Apparently they wanted a big name for the part, which was a HUGE mistake; the subject matter isn't "big" enough for a big Hollywood name. Only a certain group of people had even heard of Edie Sedgwick, so why were they trying to make this thing such a big commercial production, when it should have been a low profile, arthouse production from the beginning. As for the casting of Edie? The idiots should have simply picked up an issue of Italian Vogue and skimmed through the pages; where they would have surely found the perfect Edie Sedgwick! Super tall, super thin, with the extreme bone structure found only in the high fashion world, and certainly NOT in Hollywood. As far as acting ability goes; so what? give the girl a voice coach to learn Edie's unique way of speaking, and be done with it. I can't imagine it being that difficult to play her anyway. She was elegant, and charming, and knew how to smile! something that models do anyway, because it is their profession. Lindsay Lohan? Wow, that would have been hilarious! I just don't understand how people can not understand this simple idea, especially when so much money is at stake.

Eddie wasn't super tall. She wasn't even tall.
