Tales from the Crypt?

I havent seen this movie yet, but reading the Plot Outline on here, it sounds like its totally ripping off Tales From the Crypt. In season 3, episode 8 Easy Kill Ya, Tim Roth is an aspiring artist who tries to paint dead people. Eventually he starts killing people so he can paint them. Anyone seen them both?
