What breed of dog?

I Zochor is any particular breed at all I think he's a Shaki. You can google the breed but there's a bit about them here:

I would say mongrel alright! He seemed to be mostly border collie from the shape and face but with some kind of terrier mixed in. This would be very much from my western perspective and the Tibetan Shaki mentioned above seems to be very similar to a border collie...

In previous years when I allowed my dogs to have puppies, we had two litters of purebred border collies in which several were mostly white with black markings. The one in the movie looked exactly like our "Mary." It also had very strong border collie mannerisms such as sitting and watching before making a move.

I loved this movie for many reasons. The juxtaposition of old (pressing cheese under a wagon wheel) and new (electricity from a windmill and flashlight.) I also loved noticing the similarities between Northern Asia and Northern Europe. (Round home, nomadic lifestyle, built in beds, etc.)

"The Story of the Weeping Camel" by the same writer/director, was equally good.
