UK or Mongolian release?

I was wondering when the film might be released in the UK. Also, when is it going to be released in it's home country?

No, I haven't been able to see it yet. I'm in the UK and am going to be in Mongolia in a couple weeks - I was rather hoping to see it in Ulaanbaatar.
I'm intrigued about this shot of vultures now!

This has a limited uk release as of Aug 4th 2006, so almost a year after your post, hope your still interested lol

It's a wonderful film by the way, so do try at get to your local foreign/independant/arthouse cinema and see it if you can.

Still showing in a range of Art house cinemas this week (11th to 18th Aug). I loved this director's first film, "Story of the Weeping Camel" and am definitely going to see this one. She captures so well the life of the nomadic Mongolians, a way of life that may not survive much longer.

CAVE OF THE YELLOW DOG was released this week by Tartan on Region 2 DVD. A little masterpiece, I'd say, or maybe not so little. There's a lovely misprint on the cover that's so appropriate I hope it stays.

I saw this film here in Australia yesterday at a special screening.
Wonderful!
Both my husband and I commented on the how this film and "Ten Canoes" are similar.
Real people - not actors - but great direction. No middle, beginning, end plotline - a legend in there and sacred rites - and some lessons to the western world about patience and that sometimes you can't change things.

And a great lesson on yurt construcion.

And a great lesson on yurt construction.
Yep. Fascinating. And they can take it down so quickly and elegantly too. Very enlightening.

Hmmm...I absolutely LOVED this film, but I didn't love "Ten Canoes," which I saw last week. It was OK and interesting, but I was so moved by "Yellow Dog" I got tears in my eyes as the credits rolled. Try and rent the DVD so you can watch the interview with director Byambasuren Davaa. Truly the most enchanting film I've ever seen.

What is the misprint?

www.thecakes.co.uk - putting the sweetness back into the rock scene!

To "TheStaggeringGenius", I believe the 'misprint' is the same for the R1 release:

"CANNES FILM FESTIVAL WINNER Palm D'og"

"Film is a mosaic of Time."

Has anyone got a region 2 release that can check a subtitling issue for me? (see my post on subtitles)
Thanks :)
