Jill's No Good

I just thought this movie was no good at all. I found it hard to watch. Espacially the Jill character. She seemed to be crying all the time for no reason, in fact, someone near me in the theater whispered 'why is she crying?' So I know i wasn't the only one who thought this. I was also really bothered by her reaction to Tim being nervous about having sex with her for the first time. It seems that she was mad that he didn't feel right about using her on the first night. She was even worried about what her friend/roomate would think because she came home with a boy and didn't do anything on the first night. Any good friend would be proud of her for not being "easy." I just didn't understand her motivation.

I watched this recently and totally agree about the Jill character. She was just so annoying.Needy insecure.I kept wishing he would tell her where to go..

she was a horny hot chick who wanted to root him, and he was nervous?

A movie of progressive teenage relationships and hormones. Even my 13 year old brother picked that one up.

wow you just... totally get women don't you.

I agree.

My English is limited so bear in mind... :D Well, I would've liked the movie more if she had been a confused girl trying to grow up or "Yay, I'm enjoying my life!" kind of outgoing (shallow but in a good way) person who expresses her feelings as much as she wants. Or even somewhere in the middle, but she was just annoying to me as well. I don't know what Tim saw in her.

The characterization wasn't well thought out, I guess. Or maybe the actress wasn't spot on. If it/she was, I think there were many scenes which could've been funny or "aww" worthy, rather than making us not care about her at all... Perhaps the entire movie was a bit unfocused while the story was pretty straight forward.

I liked the family though. Good performance from them. Especially Khan Chittenden (Tim). I'd say a little "hmmm..." to Richard Wilson (Mark)'s performance but he still made me like the character. :)

The mother pisses me off, the fact that she can't just be happy for her sons. Seriously shes the one that i'd want to slap. Tim atleast seems to have Mark's needs in mind and Jil and Kelly are kind also.

Jean was a heck of a lot more annoying than Jill. The reason Jill was crying so much was because Tim's mum was being so cruel and making it a competition between the two of them for Tim's attention.

And the reason Jill was annoyed with Tim for not sleeping with her was because of her own insecurities. At that early stage she didn't realise Tim was a nervous virgin. She just assumed he wasn't attracted to her.

Jill was badly advised by her flatmate which influenced all her decisions regarding her relationship with Tim. Tim was similarly influenced by his mum. If it wasn't for theses external characters they would have a normal ' courtship ' but it would be a normal teen flick about losing you virginity. I thought the film was quite funny depicting an aging overbearing mum so wrapped up in her self she is oblivious to the people around her

Just for the record
Tim was of course nervous, but the reason for he ran off was that HE JUST STAINED HIS UNDERPANTS! Which is impossible to tell, I reckon. That was his only escape.

Yeah that aspect of the plot had me stumped as well. I enjoyed the movie for the most part but it was kind of a typical Australian film in that it didn't really go anywhere other than the predictable transformation of the family.
