From the trailers I've seen of it (they show it all the time before movies in the past month), this looks and sounds exactly like the Mel Gibson movie Ransom. It even has Delroy Lindo in it, and I think he plays the same role as he did in Ransom. I guess we'll find out if I'm right, but this looks like a complete rehash of that movie.

obviously my comment is not about the 2006 show. i only pointed out the absurdity of calling *anything* a ripoff of the mel gibson movie ransom, which is itself so unoriginal it would be difficult to find its source.
share???? Sorry but how do you propose a movie based on a 1880's novel about 1750's Scotland can be a ripoff of 1990's US movie?
Storylines do not have much in common either in my opinion.
