Why didn't they overrun the camp?

Alice and the survivors use a vehicle to burst thru the chain link encampment that's surrounded by the undead in order to get to the helicopter. Why didn't the undead use that opportunity to overrun the camp since there had to be a hole in the fencing at that point. Did I miss something?

They were. But they seemed to ignore Alice

reply

Yeah. That was a badly written scene.

my question is after carlos sacrificed himself, then alice came through,... where did the other survivors come from? all i see is carlos in his gas truck (or whatever) and alice and the other two in in the hummer. then they get to the helicopter and alice is letting the other survivors out, where did they come from?

reply

Oh dear... I'm scared to re-watch this movie now. I've seen it maybe twice and really liked it both times, but this seems sloppy.

They implied that all remaining survivors were in the hummer. they werent that many, after all they all fit into a 4-seat helicopter.

The cargo truck pulled in behind the hummer. The shot of the cargo truck was so quick though it took me a moment to realize that it was even in the scene.

Honestly that whole scene pissed me off though - first, the fact that the cargo truck came out of nowhere; second, the implication that they were about to be overrun with undead and yet they boarded with helicopter and had a little conversation without any problems.

Also did Claire even know how to fly a helicopter?
