Why is this rated so low?

I was wondering why this was rated so low, and then I noticed the 43 1's? What the hell? You don't agree with the subject matter so you give it a 1. Are we in 3rd grade here? Show some class seriously...

short and to the point though i would think expounding on the point that the docu-drama fell short on semblances might be in order.

I wouldn't say it's the best documentary ever, but it is certainly NOT bad.
It explores a few issues pertinent to understanding evangelism in America, but it does lack in tying them together. Its more of a history of evangelism in America.

it is difficult to make the bush a hero of 9 - 11 when he left the best part of himself in a puddle on the floor of a florida classrom. was that a sign of his covenant: god placed a bow in the firment of the sky; the bush left a yellow rainbow as his place holder.

dattele2 - Thank you for using capital letters and punctuation. It makes one stand out from the crowd. Your review helped me to decide that this is something I would appreciate. It boggles the mind that people can still be told what to think in the 21st century in America. I suppose this is another proof of evolution, it seems to take forever for people to find a better way.

Thank you for thinking.

Its probably the result of bunker-think.

When folks' basic worldview is challenged, they get defensive. When their world-view is highly partisan, they act like partisans.

This doesn't only apply to fundamentalist Christians, though it does certainly apply to them, as they have a number of notions (creationism, reductionism) which the mainstream rejects & ridicules.

Otoh, there are a number on the strident left who are equally judgemental and intolerant of those with differing viewpoints. In fact, the netflix site is loaded with ranting leftist docs, which I avoid.

For these sorts of people, then - right or left - every film/discussion/book/article/essay becomes perceived (as is often intended) as an instrument of an opinion war.

Ratings, then, become such an instrument. If we perceive that this documentary celebrates our line, we rate it highyly regardless of the merits/accuracy/art, etc.

If, otoh, the doc is perceived an attack, we rate it as low as we can.

These people think they are fighting some sort of good battle, but in reality have long-since lost their personal freedom. Which is a darn shame.

This doc was accurate, fair, balanced, historically exhaustive. Therefore, I rated it highly.
