What breed of Dog is Reggie?

Does any one know what dog breed Reggie (Joe) is?

reply

Irish Setter.

reply

nope, irish setters have a red / brown fur - reggie's fur was beige. from colour and height it could either be a german hovavart or a golden retriever. taking into account that the golden retriever is far more popular in the united states, i assume that reggie is of such race.

reply

It's a Golden Retriever.

reply

Just to clear it all up, "Reggie" is not a purebred. He is a mixture as far as we can tell of golden retriever/irish setter.

reply

Yup, it's a Golden Retriever. Looks so much like my Golden that sat at my feet while I watched it.

reply

Reggie looks like a pure Golden. Some have more reddish coats.

Yeah, it's like a cow's opinion, you know, it just doesn't matter. It's "moo".

reply

Reggie is a Golden Retriever.

Reggie is unreal and an added bonus in the movie.

I am intrigued by this "character." In some ways he's very dog like, and then there are times when he's almost like a spirit guide or other aid to humans as told in the ancient indigenous American stories.

At times he's playful, but chief Stone doesn't seem to know what to do with him. And what dog on earth doesn't react to gunshots? The bit that really got me was Chief Stone putting Reggie in a closet so the dog didn't have to witness another killing.

I'm halfway expecting Reggie to be a story unto himself.

Watta ya lookn here for?

reply

Could be, but he is the wrong color

I came on here to find out what breed Reggie is. Lovely creature. And a real scene stealer.

Reggie (Joe the Dog) is supposed to be a Golden Retriever or at least a mix. Joe has passed away in 2013.

The new dog, Steve (Ned the Dog) is supposedly an Irish Setter mix, but he also looks mostly Golden to me.

reply

I was wondering about that.

reply

Definitely an Irish Setter ...
