The little dog that belongs to the man with the traveling puppet show. Robbers attack him and they kill his pet dog. Lassie and the puppet master are unharmed.

Yes, and it made my little sister cry sooooooooooooooooooooo much. She hated it. But otherwise it was good. Of course Lassie doesn't die, but there's a lot of stuff in there that's like "This is a kid's movie??????????"

reply

Wow... I don't think I could handle that....

"Hello Beastie"- Jack Sparrow, DMC.

Arrgh - I was wondering if that dog would die. The 1943 movie (Lassie Come Home) killed her too, but I always hated that part. Then Lassie continues on her journey, and the poor old man is all alone, no dogs at all.

I saw the 1943 version of that when I was about 10 or 11, and it was probably the most heartbreaking movie scene of all time. It made Old Yeller look like a comedy.

You could just imagine the poor old man ending it all after that.

I haven't seen this new version but that part made me cry in the 1943 version. I've seen the trailer and I see that Nicholas Lyndhurst plays one of the two villains who follows Lassie and the travelling man. I think after seeing this we'll never regard Rodney in Only Fools and Horses as such a nice guy ever again.
