Don't be ridiculous. Just because it's not a direct desendant of the original dog. Besides which, there have always been several dogs on each film, and a direct line descent collie will be in the film. Get off your moral high horse. Should they not remake other films without the sons/daughters of famous actors in them? That would be insanity. It's not the bloodline that makes the film, either in the case of animals or actors!

It sounds crazy enough if it were said about the human actors reprising the roles of the original but younger enterprise crew in the 2009 Star Trek prequel movie who isn't the spitting image of the original cast anyway, but this is a dog.
