Colonel Faris Al Ghazi

Played by Ashraf Barhom gave one of the best performances in a movie I have ever seen. I loved his character and thought he did a great great job in this movie. He really does need to get more acting jobs I would love to see him more movies. I hope he gets another chance.

Faris is the one who takes this movie way beyond what we ever could have expected. He is so dedicated and competent and has so much dignity. It is beautiful to watch the mutual respect grow between Faris and the agents, particularly Fleury.

Ashraf's acting was Oscar level, plain and simple.

reply

The movie was awesome. I instantly said that Farris deserved an oscar nom. Best performance of the film.

reply

Yeah he's a fairly minor actor as of now that has only gotten Arabic roles in major films (Paradise Now, The Syrian Bride) but he shows he's capable of so much more than that.
It's a shame to just put him to use in these type-cast roles all the time.

I loved Faris! Great character.

4.5 months until NFL preseason. I'm pathetic!

He did a great job. I "believed" his character when he gave the "I don't want to question them, I just want to kill them" speech.

Ashraf Barhoum is a GREAT actor...to me he WAS the best one of all performances..realy.

Hope to see him in other Roles in the near Future... Great Going Ashraf :)

The man deserved an Oscar, GG, BAFTA nom, at least.

reply

Great character, well acted.

reply

I fully agree. He was equally fantastic in 2009's Agora.

reply

I agree, he really stole the show in this movie. Brilliant performance

reply

Just watched the movie for the first time since I saw it at the cinema. And I agree. He did a great job.

I just watched the movie Lebanon the other night and even though Ashraf Barhom has only a very small role i was very impressed by the guy and am now planning to watch The Kingdom just to see how he is in it. He looks like a cross between Lee Van Cleef and Jean reno. Seems like a pretty cool dude. Hopefully we get to see more of him in bigger roles.

I'm the bad guy?
How did that happen?

reply

Really reminded me of Lee Van Cleef, I was expecting Clint Eastwood to show up any second.
