Nathan Mitchell
Does anyone know him? There's nothing on him and I was curious to what he is like in person. He's an absolutely amazing actor and I assume he's LDS, but I could be wrong. Does anyone know?

Nathan is a fabulous actor and a great person. I have known him for years. He is one of the most down to earth people i have ever been acquainted with. I played Edward Rowberry the English father on the boat. Joe

I know Nick Whitaker and he said something about actually holding real auditions.

i dont know a whole lot about the actual casting procedures of the film, but as a film student at UVSC, i have had the opportunity to work at the studio where a lot of this movie was filmed (i was also an extra!) and where the post-production took place. i have worked on this movie so much through an internship and i know that when the casting directors had auditions they were looking for someone LDS, very active, and with a current temple recommend to play the part of Joseph Smith and the other actors. they hold auditions at the studio for all their films.
I have also had the opportunity to briefly meet the actor that played joseph, as well as his father, and yes, they are wonderful people!
