So none of the doctors saw the demon on the MRI scan ?

Only the mother and daughter ?
What's up with that ?
Great writing there

The doctors were ghosts too . Can't you remember how they were running around screaming in an abandoned hospital a minute later.

reply

this version makes a lot more sense.

reply

Really? OK granted I was busy while watching but did the demon arrange that?

reply

The doctors did see it and commented at the time, thinking it was an occurrence of a 'twin' residing incomplete within the surviving stronger twin. Then you see them planning to sign papers for her to be institutionalized presumably to investigate further. What movie did you watch?

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings.

reply

Huh??? I literally just watched the movie and they don't make any such comment.

Did you watch an extended version or something?

reply

I've only ever seen this on blu-ray (can't remember it being in theatres here); I don't know if it's different from original release. I really like it - I watch it often.

'Then' and 'than' are different words - stop confusing them.

Saw it on Syfy and the doctors didn't say anything about it. The mother pulls her out of the machine, and next she's in a hospital bed. The father comes in and the mother says I saw something inside her.

"Cum Grano Salis"

reply

You definitely saw a different version than the one I just watched. The doctors don't say anything about the face inside. The mom and sister see it and scream, the scene goes dark, they grab her off the MRI table, and the next scene she is in a hospital bed. The mother tells the father she saw something in her but the doctors can't help her. You never see a doctor again. Weird.

reply

I'm in NZ, so Region 4 (DVD) and 2 (Blu-ray) so they may have released a slightly different version here.

reply

You don't see a doctor because they move the girl to the gym in the basement. The dad even mentions that no body comes there after 6.

reply

I've never known the patient, family members or anyone else to be watching the live images of an MRI/CT scan...no way would that happen...

reply

Oh, it might. Sometimes parents or others will sit with the radiographers while the patient is being scanned. It´s more likely, though, that in this case, they would be sitting with the daughter inside the MRI-room and not outside it.
What IS unrealistic is that the images appear continuously. A full body MRI takes ages and only when it´s done are the images produced. That means you have to wait for 3-20 minutes to see the full series of images. The way the images are shown on movies is more like a CAT scan.

reply

And I didn't know CAT-scans support real time video feed.

reply

Thought the same thing myself. Whatever the machine was, it was taking slices at too slow a rate to be able to produce a video effect. And yeah, I'd assume the family would be in the control booth, to be on the safe side.

...it's just another dumb film, get over it.

reply

The MRI scene was creepy cool but it was all rubbish. Do these screenwriters not know that the audience will likely have gone through an MRI and it's nothing like how it was depicted in the film?

First, MRIs are not live realtime video feeds. They are still images. Secondly, family don't get to sit around in the back watching the MRI results. There is a technician or two pushing buttons and operating the machine then gathering the results. Thirdly, the docs/techs seem to ignore the writhing evil entity clearly visible in the video scans. The family comments on it but the docs/techs probably have lunch break on their mind so they don't follow up on it. Finally, this is after the MRI, the family moves their daughter to an abandoned hospital and run around through various empty rooms yelling and screaming.

One more thing: the father chases his possessed daughter into a morgue filled with bodies. When he finds her waiting and calling to him the same room in completely empty. Did the demon child scare away the corpses?
