problem with subtitles

Has anybody else had problems with the english subtitles on the HK Universe DVD? it says it has english subs, but when i select them and play the movie it has chinese subs instead. I tried selecting both traditional and simplified chinese subs in case they accidentally switched them around, but still no luck. I can't figure out what the hell the problem is. has anybody else had this problem w/ the DVD, and does anybody know if there have been some defects with any? thanks

That's very stange, it's probably some sort of defect or mistake. Have you tried doing language selection during the movie and in the menu, or just during one? It's possible that one selection works and the other doesn't. I can't be much help to you except for that. However, if you plan to buy (I'm assuming you bought it) the movie a second time, the Tai Shing entertaiment DVD seems to work fine. That's the version I own, and it hasn't given me any trouble (though it doesn't have any special features).

I have the same problem with this release,
but when I've played it on my PC using PowerDVD it works fine,

try it and let me know if it works :)

I encounter that sometimes on DVDs. Your DVD remote probably has a subtitle button - try cycling through them while playing the movie, and see if any of them are in english.
