does the fact that the actress that plays sasha being a transexual have anything to do with the plot?
the transexual in "tenebre" is supposed to be a girl, so i guess at the time argento didn't realize he hired a man to play a woman,
in this case i think it's more obvious with the facial structure that sasha is a man, so are we supposed to come to the conclusion that the nerdy main character is a closeted homosexual?

i mean his current girlfriend has short hair, after all...

i don't think the actress who played sasha is a man. At first, I thought it too, but after having seen her in other tv movies when you can look at her face closely I started to think that she's a female, a bit masculine

The Italian Wikipedia entry for Elisabetta Rocchetti refers to her once as someone's daughter but thereafter as "he" or "him". But it never uses the word transsexual to describe her. Odd.

In Deep Red there is a woman playing a man's role but people are tending to exaggerate some of Argento's actresses. They also believe the first prostitute in Sleepless to be a trans without evidence but their own imagination

Um, no, they are indeed "less of a woman". The dysfunction is in their heads not their bodies. There is no science that says someone can be born in the wrong body. In a body sense, we are all start out as female, but our chromosomes determine our gender, not our minds. I'm not saying they shouldn't live as they see themselves, but sorry, thinking you are doesn't make it so. If I think I'm a giraffe mentally, does that me transspecies? You are also incorrect about gay men. It's not uncommen for them to be attracted to transgendered women. I knew of one gay male/transgendered female couple and they knew of many others.
