What was Baby Barbarossa look at end of movie

Just after the parents get pushed the water barbarossa makes a look at camera. I imagine it was hard to get a very small child to act well but what was he trying to portray. Disgust? Jealousy, envious, I could't work it out , but it seemed important, anyone?
