At the rate of how things were going - I was hoping for a good ending. Oh man, what an ending. Makes it even more of a good reason to watch this fantastic movie.

I was definatly not expecting what had happened at the end, so of course to me it was the best ending EVER. I could NOT stop laughing.

reply

I wasn't expecting it either. Great ending

Yes the ending saves the movie for. It was a bit boring after a while but the ending was super!!

When Cake's "I will survive" kicked in, which is one of my favourite songs ever,
i thought that this is simply perfect.

I'm really weird,
am I the only one who cried through the last 20 minutes of the movie?

reply

i was tearing.
this film is really meaningful.

reply

i was tearing up. some people laugh, some cry, some will be angry, but i think the director just wants people to have some sort of emotional reaction and he is successful

Personally, i felt a sense of peace, it was a beautiful ending. If you think about what the son said about his father it almost made me cry too.

It's lots of fun to watch with other people. Just as everyone's starting to realise the film's actually kind of depressing, the mood in the room darkens, Tadnabou throws himself from the window and...

Woosh, Oh! <Mood in room brightens, beers are drunk, tears are shed, night ends on a happy note>

Never fails to get a reaction. And it's so much better than a 'twist out of nowhere' ending because in the bizarre logic of the movie it's a perfectly natural thing to happen!

Love it. Best ending I've seen in ages.

Yes, one of the best endings to a film I've ever seen. Truly a thing of beauty, unexpected yet absolutely right.

Nice indeed, but I would have liked it a bit better had it stopped right after the instant when Birdman saves the guy. Them flying around and meeting the various other characters was not awful, but it tied things up a bit too neatly for my taste, and it allowed for the tears of laughter in my eyes after the moment of maximum impact (the rescue) to dry.

I loved the ending so very much, it made me happy in a way i tuly had not expected. And in such a ridiculous way, that suits the movie so perfectly. I was really feeling pretty down after Ayano left his wife's grave that last time and realized it was really over, just when he didn't want it to be anymore. And if the in-flight rescue didn't do it for me, the son jumping up and down and cheering for his bird-dad totally had me, then you see J getting wheeled by his friend and I was just like "aww... yay...". I really can't think of an ending I would prefer more, nor a movie that genuinely left me so thoroughly satisfied at the end, and not in a "good guy gets vengeance on the bad guy" kind of way.
