fro z cones all the way

I found that Alexa was not in the movie long enough to be missed by the audience in the beginning but as the movie progressed you began to care for her character whether good or bad, as she created an impact on all those close to her, especially peter and maddie. In the beginning of the movie peter and maddie didn't really seem well matched, however you soon discovered that even though sara went with both of them it may well be for the better as in the last 20 so minutes i really believed they were a couple unlike the first 20.
What i really liked about this movie was that it was different, as usually in movies when a child dies the parent spends the majority grieving, whereas diane keaton tried to understand her daughter by becoming her and in a lot of ways she found new things that her daughter tried to keep secret from her for the better. I found this film unusually off the stereotyped track and i loved it especially the bearded lady!

I'm surprised the writers/director missed the golden opportunity for laying on additional schmaltz: when Keanton buys a "small vanilla" from the Fro-Z-Cone's bearded lady. Keaton should have said (to echo Sara's comment the night she died), "If I was your best friend, I'd buy you an Epilady."

keaton tried to own her daughter in death as she did in life.

what made the movie worthwhile for me was the scene in the sushi joint
where the chef reads that passage to the mom.

would that we were all ready to hear what other people really think about
us and could take it.

on the other hand it is natural for all of us to use each other in some
respect to fullfill whatever our needs are.

one thing that did not grab me about this movie was that none of the
characters seemed that great, they all seemed off, and more or less
normal, or what they portrayed as normal ... but how many people really
get together with their friends every year and relive college like happends
in lots of movies?
