did anyone notice this quote?

this was an awful movie that my wife had on, but one line cracked me up when diane keaton alluded to a screenwriter not to "go all depressing and scandanavian on her?" any woody allen fan would know that allen followed up annie hall with interiors, a depressing ingmar bergman-style chamber play, which also starred keaton.

yeah? anyone? woody allen rocks!

reply

indeed i did notice the woody allen comment ... made me laugh

you're out of the woods
you're out of the dark
you're out of the night

reply

yeah ... i didsee/hear that quote and thought it was kind of a funny but
cheap shot. is it supposed to represent diane's opinion of woody allen's
later movies, or be a joke, or represent the director/writer or the virtual
audience, ie. everyone who well knows something happened to woody allen
and his later movies are something completely different from his earlier
ones.

did like match point though.

another one is coming up soon with scarlett johannson i just saw the previews.

I thought it was really funny. But I also own this DVD because I loved this movie, and in the commentary with the director and Diane Keaton, he reported that those lines were in the original book. So it is just a bonus that Diane was cast in this movie and got to make fun of herself. BTW, I love Diane Keaton!

I used to like Diane Keaton, and then she did the awful
"Little Drummer Girl" ... and I thought, ugh for many
years ... but lately she has been doing these sort of
light slice of life comedies, and I can enjoy her in
those, in fact I think she shines.

That's nice to know those lines were in the book, it
must have made her a total shoo-in for the part.

Not it has been a while and I seem to recall this movie
was not bad in terms of heart, but the stupidity of the
characters did bug me, particularly the bad driving,
that is just a thing with me, I hate crazy drivers.

Everybody luvs Woody Allen and Diane Keaton (she's my favourite actress)
if they know who they are....
I haven't seen this but my freind noticed it and told me.

reply

Yes, I noticed it, and I loved the reference to "Interiors." Woody Allen indeed rocks, as does Diane Keaton generally, but this film most certainly does not. But that was a brilliant reference.
