How does it compare with Melville's version?

I watched that today, and I'm curious if this is worth a watch as well.

I'd love to watch the Melville version. I've read there are differences.

The Melville version is a helluva underrated movie.

This version is up on youtube with English subs if u want to compare. Too bad the Melville version is on youtube too.

The Melville version will be shown on TCM on Nov. 3. I think it's at 2 a.m. EST, but you can check the local listings.
