The best romanian movie from the 90s

Even if not the most original, even if building on a long expired subject, it is a movie with god acting and sound and is worth seeing. It is a step forward for the long-frosted romanian cinema.

FALSE!
See "Italiencele", launched 2004 for comparaison. Or "Magnatul", "Ambasadori, cautam patrie".

And I prefer to see dinosaurus on Discovery Channel.

reply

I totally agree with the fact that is the best romanian movie from the 90s. I liked it too.

reply

Tho it has some parts, the movie is mostly old-fashioned and boring.. definitely not the best romanian film

The best romanian movie from the 90s - Orient Express (2004)

Ba baiatule, esti sigur de ce ai scris? Daca intelesul e 'of the 90s', cum e corect, sunt foarte curios in ce decada si ce secol suntem, in opinia ta.

reply

Mai pune mana pe un manual de engleza si apoi corecteaza`i pe altii ;)

Scrie mare, alb pe negru [albastru de fapt...], "From the 90s" nu "of the 90s".

reply

Tot un drac. Anii 90, za naintiis adica, s-au terminat demult, in anul 2000.

reply

it's kinda tuff to give a name to the "00" years but they ain't the 90s that's for sure

De gustibus et coloribus non disputandum

reply

I think he originally meant "since" the 90s.

reply

Both movies - "Italiencele" and "Orient Express", that is - are terribly bad and they never should be screed anywhere outside this country. They are a disgrace to the true cinema.

reply

Best romanian film? I would be curious if any of you have seen "Niki & Flo", "Moartea domnului Lazarescu", "Occident", "Filantropica", and several others -- all of them definitely much better than the pure crap Nicolaescu delivers.

reply

Maybe he meant: "The worst romanian movie since the 90s" :)

reply

He probably did... this is 100% crap from a schizoid senile Nicolaescu

reply

each has the right to his opinion. But no need to trash another`s. I`ve meant what I said, and I`ve seen enough Romanian and Sergiu Nicolaescu`s movies to form this opinion... but still I can understand others may not feel likewise

reply

The only way someone can say Orient Express was a good movie is if that someone worked on the production of this movie or hasn't seen it. Because everyone I know curses the 2 hours spent watching this movie (I'm one of the "fortunate" ones, too).

reply

One (Romanian and young one especially) filled with the 90's movies crap (Pintilie, Danieliuc) probably can't like it. Nicolaescu, the director, is somehow old fashioned, but so are good taste, honor, a job well done. As an actor I have my reservations but here it goes with the "l'air du temps". Another time, another world, when people cursed for good reason, not because they're spoiled and go, "you know" "like" for the "cool" "stuff".

reply

Best romanian movie I've seen...by far!

reply

One of the greatest romanian movies! Cool!

reply

asta poate nu e unu dintre cele mai bune dar ambasadori cautam patrie e cel mai penibil film facut dupa revolutie.si au fost multe penibile...

even equiped with a shovel and you couldn't dig this

reply

Right.

On the other hand, "ambassadors searching for a country" defines ironically well the behaviour of directors mad at everything but their idiotic products.
