About the Movie

I have been thinking for a while that I would like to direct a Metroid movie. Of course, I am only 13, but, if it doesn't get made by the time I am old enough to direct it, or the movie that is made is crap, I would really like to make it. I was thinking of having the movie starting with a ship being attacked by space pirates. Everyone is either being mercilicely killed or captured for later torture, when we see Samus's parents holding a baby Samus and putting her in an escape pod, and the last thing she sees before the pod is launched is her parent's dying, giving her a later grudge against the Space Pirates. She lands on the planet of the Chozo, and the Chozo of course raise her. As she grows, she learns to fight hand-to-hand and with weapons. By the time she is 25, she is given the suit. The Chozo send her off to work with an organization that is helping with the destruction of the Space Pirates. Then, it basically goes into Metroid Prime 1. If I do end up directing it, most likely everything I mentioned would probably change. What do you guys think?

Hmmmmm trying reading the Metroid E-Manga to get a better idea on how to start the movie. Samus' parents gets killed by Ridley and the Space Pirates on an colony named inhabitated by humans on another planet.

I would have it like this.

She is raised by the Chozo after being orphaned, and her DNA is enfused with Chozo DNA to help her survive her injuries. They raise her and train her as they see her as the one to destroy the space pirates once and for all (throw in a prophecy I guess if it helps). As she grows up, she becomes disenchanted with her responsibilities, and abandons the Chozo to have a "normal" life. She doesn't want to be some human/Chozo hybrid or some saviour of the universe. She wants to be just human.

She enters the galactic police force, and excels in her role there. But she becomes frustrated with the bureacracy of the federation and the soft approach they take to bringing the space pirates down. She is sent as part of an attack group to Zebes, which has since been taken over by space pirates and used for genetic experiments. The chozo that raised Samus have fled. The attack team is completely slaughtered, and Samus escapes as the only survivor.

On the run from the space pirates, she finds the old temple where the Chozo raised her, and hides inside. It is here that she finds a message left from her Chozo companions, telling her about her destiny, why she is different from everyone else, and the consequences for everyone if she doesn't live up to her responsibilities. It is here that she finds her suit, and her ship, which the Chozo somehow managed to hide from the pirates in their search. All the suit upgrades are in the space pirates facilities being tested by their scientists, and Samus must go deep inside to get them all, and thus stand any chance of destroying the metroids, Ridley and the Mother Brain.

Naturally, she achieves this, and all is well. Just before she leaves she runs into a federation rescue team who has come to investigate what happened to the strike team. Samus informs them on their way out that they are too slow, and that Samus Aran was among the dead. She flies away and everyone is happy. Of course Ridley lives to fight another day, setting up an inevitable sequel.

I remember reading an article several years ago about director John Woo (Paycheck) was attached to a Metroid film project several years down the line. However, I can't find any sources to support that right now.
