the original is the better of the two. I still think their two of the best games of the past generation though. I didn't like the ammo system in this game thou, it's unlike any past metroid.

hmm I agree that the first one is better. The bosses in mp2 were not as cool as mp1, and the dark world was too purple, and the missle combos were more useless, and the treasure hunt at the end was more annoying. That's why I liked the firstone better.
But I though both were still excellent games, but not best of the generation.

I really liked MP2. Music really was awesome and the story was amazing. The environments were so lifelike and unbelievable. Such as the Santuary Fortress/Ing Hive.

I prefer this to MP1, but I love MP1 nearly just as much.

The weapons in the second one weren't as good, just rehashed versions of the weapons in number one.
The visors weren't as good either, but the multiplayer is a big plus.
Overall i say MP1.

I say Metroid Prime 1 is better because it had a more fun feel to it, better visor effects, unlimited shots for all our beams, and more. Not to mention that it was the first 3D Metroid game ever made! Thank you and bravo Nintendo and Retro Studios, for such an awesome game! I'll say it again, Metroid Prime 2 is amazing, but the first one is even better.

the only reason i'd give it to MP instead of MP2 is because I like the story better in MP. Don't get me wrong i really liked the story in MP2, but MP touched my heart because you know you are on a planet that once was a home for some Chozo. The fact that they died was touching because we know of Samus' connection to the Chozo, but the most touching moment was when you scan a pirate data about the artifacts and that if they can't understand them they'll destroy them made my blood boil. retro studios did a great job and almost did as good a job in MP2

I really liked both games. I didn't liek the ammo system although it did make it more challenging and thought the bosses were cooler and harder in Echoes and it had Dark Samus, however the story and game in the first one was a lot closer to a metroid game. It had the chozo and ridley and more metroids, so i would probably give it to the first one mainly because it is closer to a true metroid game. But both are great and some of my favorite nintendo games.

Both are amazing games and I can't really pick a favorite. I will say that the environments in Prime 2 are ABSOLUTELY amazing. Not that Prime was bad in this aspect, it's just that Prime 2 was a little bit better. Oh well, they're both awesome.

I think Metroid Prime is the superior game. Metroid Prime broke new ground and it was huge coup in general. When Nintendo announced that their next big Metroid game was being made by a brand new American studio and that it was a first person shooter, the fanbase exploded into a firestorm of disappointment and disgust. There were probably some suicides, people were so upset. Then a couple of years later it was finally released. Not only was everyone relieved that it didn't suck, they were happily surprised to find that it was an amazingly high quality game in general, arguably among the best ever.

Metroid Prime 2 is a great game too, but it's so much like the original Metroid Prime that it feels like a cheap expansion pack, not a new game. It just hitches a ride on Metroid Prime's coat tails. I still enjoyed the hell out of it. It's just that when I finished it, I didn't have that warm afterglow which only comes from knowing I just experienced a new milestone in gaming. But you know, that's generally how it goes with direct sequels. It's pretty rare they surpass the original, in my eyes anyway.

Metroid Prime 3 looks like it will bring a lot of new stuff to the table. I don't anticipate it usurping MP1 from its throne, but it looks a damn sight more interesting than MP2.

Metroid Prime is better than Echoes, mostly because it was such a fresh experience. It also has a better story, it flows better, doesn't have a lame ammo system, etc.

However, I do feel Echoes is underrated by most. To me, Echoes overcomes the sophomore slump by having unarguably the best world/level design of any Metroid game (or maybe video game period) and has the most inventive boss battles this side of Yoshi's Island. Seriously, I walked around the Sanctuary Fortress with my jaw dropped for almost the whole time I was there. Even today in a world of HD graphics, Echoes stands as one of the prettier games I've ever seen and it's all due to the immaculate art design.

Prime is a 10. Echoes is a 9.5. Corruption is an 8.

I only played MP2 Echoes last year

And it's far better than MP1 and it's even better than MP3 Corruption

It's full of new ideas ,the story is great and the graphics are AMAZING ... 10/10 Excellent

1.MP2 Echoes... 1O/1O
2.MP3 Corruption... 9.5/10
3.MP ...9.2/10

And all will turn
