Great Movie!

Wow. Was this a great movie or what? I really enjoyed how you saw the PBA through the eyes of four completely different views. Pete Weber is the spoiled child of a bowling superstar, Wayne Webb is the aging down-to-earth guy who sacrificed his life for the game, W.R. Williams Jr. is the all-around boy-scout good guy, and Chris Barnes is the clean-cut family man.

The fact that all of them come together to lift the sport to new heights is just amazing.

I loved the behind-the-scenes looks at the people and the mechanics of organizing these tournaments. It's just brilliant.

will it work? the Nike guy seemed out of his element - great for marketing and drive, but not REALLY into bowling...

the bowlers all, i found, were depressing in one way or another. honestly? at times, i thought i was watching one of those harry shearer/michael mckean parodies like 'best in show'.

the scrabble film was more interesting...

I enjoyed it--7/10, but found it a bit depressing overall . . . maybe that was part of what they hoped to express though.

This was really well done.
as a fan of the PBA back when it was on ABC...this was very interesting.
Showing the different varieties of players was great also.
Seeing the top stars.. and the then rising star of Barnes...
along with the aged veteran..hall of famer...struggling to make a living..
Showing just how hard it is to make a living out there...

It did come across as a little depressing...
because each week.. there is only 1 winner...
the rest go home losers...
some not making any money at all.

a hard life style.

Steve Miller came across as one tough SOB...
but he did turn the PBA around...

well done documentary.
