The real story behind the film - Michelle Browns testimony

For anyone interested in the background, here's the real life story -

Thanks for posting that. I was curious about how true the story was and came here to find out. It looks like they included a lot of what really happened in the movie, and embellished on the relationship between the two women. They never met before or after the identity theft. I read that whole statement by Michelle Brown and what she went through is scary. The most unbelievable part is that when the impersonator went to jail on unrelated charges, she was booked as Michelle Brown and there's nothing to stop this woman from continuing to impersonate Michelle Brown once she gets out of prison. I hope the suggestions she made for fixing the system were implemented.

This came up when I was searching for "Michelle Brown" Coquille. Does anyone know if Michelle Brown from the movie went to school there? If so that would clear up a few ?? I had as I am from her class!

Thanks

[email protected] and you all know what to do with the nospam part.

The FTC recently announced that the IDT problem will become 20 TIMES worse in the next 10 years. not 20%... 20 X !

I am one of the coordinators of NIDTAP: the National Identity Theft Awareness Program and I keep a database of TV news clips about IDT... they will shock you. go to www.plan4IDT.com and email me if you'd like to see them. Charlie

Six years later, with obamacare's leaky database and "navigators" of questionable background, "You ain't seen nothing yet!". I suspect there will be thousands more people who will have experiences like Ms Brown in the near future.

Wow - thanks VERY much for posting this!! The film and IMDB did not ever convince me that this was not a composite story based on many many cases and dramatized!

You posted this 3 years ago, but I do hope you read my thanks :)
