A Remake the Surpassed the Original.

I did not know this until recent, but Four Brothers is a remake of John Wayne's The Sons of Katie Elder. I found that out part way through watching it. Although I liked both films, Four Brothers is the easy winner. 97% of the time, I side with the original film against the remake, but Four Brothers is part of the 3% that is better.

I never caught on to that. I've seen this movie three times but never realized it was a remake of The Sons of Katie Elder. Of course, it's been decades since I actually saw Sons.
