Let me tell you why this movie was terrible

1) I understand it's Detroit but it's ridiculous how they basically made it seem like this movie took place in the Old West with no law. Cops were never to be found when they were literally holding up a high school, shooting up a casino, etc.

2) Where the hell did Mark Wahlberg walk from in that last scene on the ice? There's nothing for miles behind him so are we to believe he walked miles on ice?

3) The mom did not give off a warm vibe at all. It was creepy as hell. Imagine for a moment you're watching a horror movie and all you'll see what I mean. She looks and talks like evil incarnate.

4) Sofia Vergara is awful. There should have been at least one female character that the audience could root for.

5) A marine getting tired running up a few flights of stairs? Yeah, ok.

6) The bond between the brothers is never developed and it feels really forced upon the audience.

7) The entire storyline was Fowler/Green was garbage.

8) No gang leader would treat his main henchman like that. You treat the peons at the bottom like that, not your top 5-6 guys.

9) The brothers didn't even seem sad when the mom died.

10) 3 of the brothers never even cared enough about their mom to take care of her for the past however many years. Instead, they left it to Jerry.

All your points are hilariously true.

Only a *beep* dork who never gets laid would sit down and write all these points about why 4 Brothers was terrible.. Its a really good movie and you are just a *beep* nerd.

Says the guy posting on the Internet with a Mario Brothers username/picture freaking out and losing his **** at people on a movie message board.

reply

I'm not gonna reply to all of your points separately as a lot of them have the same answer: the four brothers were *beep* up. They were far from ordinary, it even says in the film they were 4 lost causes hence why Evelyn took them in. Just because they don't spend half the movie crying you assume they had no love for their mother?
Sofia Vergara is a goddess.
Angel isn't in the military at the time of the film as far as the viewers know, he probably drinks, smokes and eats a *beep* load of... *beep*
The lack of cops can be explained that they got away before they were called? As far as I know police rarely show up within 27 seconds of an incident.
Mark Wahlberg can walk from wherever he pleases.

clearly the thread started es here speaking for him or herself.

Since it came out when i first seen it thru tonight on cable, the brothers ALL were sad.
Realistically so.... ALL exhibited diff style of emotion(s)bobby mi fave was clearly mad and more angry than tears of sadness, jeremiah was clearly shaken up,in tears just about
and angel did cry while sweet tall quiet one cracker jack was sad imo ...

What movie were you watching? The mother taking in 4 delinquent boys when she didn't have to, she could've let them be orphans in the system. That itself shows she was a warm loving person. That was established at the beginning when she could've let the guy call the police on the little boy for stealing but she didn't.

Where were you when they watched the video of her being shot? They were all hurt by that. Bobby cried when they were at the house. These are grown men, what did you expect them to do, fall out and wallow around on the floor screaming. The fact that they got revenge shows they cared.

Victor Sweet was an obnoxious psychopath that didn't care about anyone but himself. All his workers were intimidated by him therefore allowing his abuse and degradation of them. He wasn't trying to hold out and mistreat certain people on down the line, he treated everyone badly.

Lastly, why on earth would they have a female to root for when the movie is about four BROTHERS?

Like some of the above, I can't be bothered responding to all your points but:

1 ... it's ridiculous how they basically made it seem like this movie took place in the Old West with no law.
Perhaps true to an extent, but the film is a loose sort of remake of the old John Wayne film, The Sons of Katie Elder, so it kind of makes sense.
4) Sofia Vergara is awful. There should have been at least one female character that the audience could root for.
She was great. I gather you didn't cheer when she slid Angel his 2 guns across the floor.
6) The bond between the brothers is never developed and it feels really forced upon the audience.
Their fraternal relationship is one of the best things about the movie IMO. It's very believable.
9) The brothers didn't even seem sad when the mom died.
You must have missed the whole first act? What were you doing? Sitting on the can? Having dinner? Walking the dog? You can't have been paying attention.🐭

1. You do make a slight point here. But that's just how this movie was, plus as it was stated in the movie, there were a lot of crooked cops and the rest just didn't care.

2. Maybe he got a lift most of the way and walked the rest. Called a taxi and got dropped off nearby. Ran a lot. It was none the less a pretty cool scene.

3. I think you must have watched a different movie entirely because she gave off a very warm caring understanding vibe.

4. She was the crazy girlfriend and she played that role to a tee. She was quite good.

5. Former marine. He obviously didn't stay in shape.

6. Again did you watch a different movie? They all did pretty well as a brotherly bond.

7. How? It showed the one good cop trying to do his job, only to be killed by his partner who was crooked.

8. So you're a gang leader then? You know every gang leader ever? It is honestly not that shocking that a guy who was treated like *beep* by his uncle would then take it out on literally everyone else beneath him. He only cared about himself and he liked having all the power. Everyone else was below him and he made sure they always knew it.

9. Seriously I think you have mixed this up with a different movie because it was obvious they were sad.

10. They weren't exactly stand up citizens. Plus a lot of families are like that with only one family member sorting everything out like that. They did care about their mum. Jeremiah was the only one who really had his sh!t together though and smart enough to be able to do all that.

Detroit is notorious for the fact that it takes cops almost an hour to respond to a 911 call. The whole attack at the house scene took less than 10 minutes so yeah it makes sense that the cops didn't get there until it was over.
