One of Best Soundtracks Ever

The soundtrack is one of the reasons why I love this movie so much. Every song fit the mood. The movie had a '70s feel to it. Many of us who were born in the 70s and 80s were raised on Motown, like the characters in this movie. It is exactly the music I would expect to hear when four boys come home to bury their momma in inner city Detroit.

Absolutely agree. Score and song choices are outstanding, for the subject matter and overall tone--reminds me of some of Tarantino's choices in assembling various soundtracks. Whomever put this selection together is spot-on. Notice too that they're all "Detroit"/Motown records?

Pure genius.

I'm in complete agreement and pointed that out in a post calling it the "worst soundtrack ever". The Motown songs fit the era, the feel and the area of the city perfectly. This movie was a pleasant surprise. There were very few missteps, and I'd recommend this film to almost everyone.
