Does everybody in the Philippines mix up as much english with their mother-tongue as the people in this movie? I found it weird but I guess most languages use more or less english words nowadays.

This is something I have always found weird about Tagolog. They are never consistent with the languages they speak and can even switch languages mid sentance, stuff like this has always been a pet peeve of mine so it is really weird that a country actually talks like that.

I always thought it was because of the whole colonial mentality that you are seen as being better off if you spoke English.
shareI'm from Sweden, and the younger generation tend to adopt more and more English terms into the language - a natural development considering that Internet is necessary to live to us young people. When new technology is invented, there's no longer a need to come up with a Swedish word for it - everyone understands and can speak English, so there's no problem mixing it up.
I guess it could be just the same in the Philippines. That's the American influence on the world, ladies and gentlemen!
