German? Not French or English?

Sorry, I haven't read the book or watched the movie yet but I'm hoping to do the former soon. I'm just checking this out and realised it's a German movie. Is the story set in Germany or something? Cause I was expecting it to be in French or English...

Yes it's set in Germany. It's not a 1:1 adaption of the book.

It's a wonderful movie - you need to see it - it's also available in English as "The Elementary Particles"
