1st off i was very touched by the film . I cant understand the criticism its recieved here. It was a well acted movie about human weakness and the different ways in which we love and need love.
Both the brothers learned their lesson the hard way .

What i cant understand is the closing quote about "sexual aggression" where it seems to suggest that traits shown by brunos character only lead to destruction but his emotionally limited brother became a great scientist so thats the way to go ?? The camera panning to the children on the beach reinforced this .
Was the film hinting at cloning bringing a child to annabelle ??

Id rather the film had avoided this and the whole cloning part of the storyline seemed a bit obsolete .
But well worth seeing ...

i saw it on a rented DVD.. the closing comment was in german (there where no translation or subtitles)... what exactly the comment says?

That was the one line that really struck me and left the film on a positive note.

I really like how they included the closing comment, it just wrapped it up nicely

I'm not so sure about the positive note - it was ambiguous, to say the least, and could as well be scathingly sarcastic. "Dem Vernehmen nach" is not exactly "according to the records", but means something you know by hearsay only. And how reliable is that? Exactly.
