One question, Was there any relation to the neighbour who loved gardening with Baretto Haras? and Did Barreto go to Greece when he told Rabuta he was away with his sisters?

1- Yes, THERE IS A CONNECTION between Bartie and Baretto Haras.
2- No, In fact He never went to Greece.

All of these have been explained in the book but in the movie, well I think that's a big flaw... so people are right when they say you should read the book (especially book 1) before seeing this movie.

Yes ofcourse the gardener (Henry Bartie) is Haras' murderer. (Book 2, Chapter 12, completely explained)
