Nobel Prize in Literature

What has this movie in common with a book that gained the Nobel Prize in Literature?

This part of the plot: A boy tortures some animals (and a gnome with magical power) and therefore is shrunken to the size of a small animal (and now he can understand and talk to the animals). He gets back his normal size when he has learned to respect all the nature and turns out to be a polite and cooperative young man...

The Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf published the book "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils" in 1906/1907 and was the first female writer to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1909.

The book was several times made into movies:

"The Enchanted Boy" (1955) (A Soviet traditionally-animated feature film)

"Adventures of Nils Holgersson" (1962) (A Swedish live action movie)

"The Wonderful Adventures of Nils" (1980/1981) (A Japanese anime adaptation with 52 episode series)

I always find it interesting to look for references - and how the wheel is reinvented...
