Oh and also whats the deal with the girls spirt floating around when she was still alive!
Well, nothing really. The movie ended there, with the girl's mom running after the car.

yeah, i saw it and i still didn't get it.
What did seeing the ghost make her think? Her daughters dad was gonna kill her daughter or something?
No, that he was molesting her.
Or so says the friend I saw the movie with.
i wasn't fully paying attention when i saw this movie, so that could be why i ask this.
But when did they ever say, or hint at that someone was molesting someone?
mayb when she didnt want to kiss her BF or guy she liked. o also, when her covers on her bed pulled off and when her arms and legs were pinned down, spread apart.
shareUh, how about when they showed the dad finishing up after he raped her? And packing away the bloody clothes and sheets? What did you think the blood between the girl's legs while she lay there catatonic was all about?
Anyway, it doesn't really matter what happened exactly in this movie because it was really awful and it doesn't really need an excuse for its stupidity.

I just saw it for the first time and I thought it was very interesting. It came together for me -- what was happening to the family -- and, of course, at the end there is no doubt what had happened.
Mom always said when a father is TOO concerned about his little girl's boyfriends there is usually a good reason for it. And she wasn't talking about the girl being easy either.
