Considered casting

I just read the trivia and all of the people considered for the main roles made me cringe!
Tom Cruise as Face?!?
Sylvester Stallone as Hannibal?

I have to admit, I was worried about Liam Neeson playing Hannibal at first, mainly because Hannibal is supposed to be a patriotic war vet, and Neeson has an Irish accent.

I thought that he would talk with an Irish accent, which would take away from the character. But he really surprised me, and it made me want to see him in more action films, like "Unknown", the "Taken" series and "Non-Stop".

If I were fan casting in pre-2009 my casting choices were:

John "Hannibal" Smith - Mel Gibson, George Clooney, Kurt Russell
Templeton "Faceman" Peck - Christian Bale, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Reynolds
"Howling Mad" Murdock - Woody Harrelson, Charlie Day, Sam Rockwell, Johnny Knoxville
Bosco "BA" Baracus - Dwayne Johnson, Ice Cube, Tyrese Gibson, Terry Crews

Love the idea of Bale or Reynolds for Face. Now those are great ideas that I would have loved to see but Cooper sufficed.

By the same token I hate all your suggestions for BA. Johnson? Like he’s not in enough f*%ing movies already.

Think John Singletons cast choices were probably best (for an A Team movie in the 90s/early 00s)

"When John Singleton was originally going to direct the film, he says the original cast included Mel Gibson as Hannibal, Christian Bale as Face, Jim Carrey as Murdock, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as B.A. Barracks"

but think an A Team movie had come out in the late 90s/early 00s with Gibson, Pitt, Carrey, Rhames (and a different story less convoluted) it would've done huge boxoffice
