west wing

this show in the same league as the west wing

If The West Wing is a liberal utopian fantasy then C.I.C is a Bush puppetry extravaganza. The problem with right wing politics is that it demands a horrifying small-mindedness and the freedom to demand to be lied to.

I just witnessed Madam pres proudly saying that people shouldn't believe what they see in video evidence, news reports and the media in general. You should only believe rumour. To stirring music of course. ffs

Absolute redneck piffle.

Commander-in-Chief isn't even remotely close to being in the same league as The West Wing.

I just finished watching CinC, mostly because of nostalgia for TWW. And let me tell you, the only thing the 18 episodes of this show did for me was to remind me just how good TWW was.

And TWW isn't politics for Pete's sake! It's drama and a bloody good one too. Here's an example - Toby Ziegler says in one episode: "Free trade stops wars!" (he shouts it, actually). A couple of seasons later another character (Asst. Secretary of State Albie Duncan played by the amazing Hal Holbrook) says: "Free trade stops wars, but the rest of that sentence is - we hope!"

CinC was fun in a "chew it up and spit it out" kind of way. CinC is Danielle Steele and TWW is Shakespeare.

My 2 cents, no change to give.
