The Chinese parents with 5 kids and new house...

I was shocked that the father wanted the 9 year old to be tutored in English, when he could hardly speak the language...!! just something I noticed...

I mean no disrespect by this next statement, but I see this often when teaching/dealing with Asian families: If they aren't doing anything productive(academic/sports) at any given time, they are not "doing anything."

I was working at a daycare center and one child was Asian (Chinese to be exact.) Every day when his father came to pick him up, the father said "What are you doing?" not asking his son to tell him about his activity, but asking him if it was productive. The kid was three years old! Luckily the child was a sweetie and was never a troublemaker, I just felt sorry for him that he always must be doing "Something"

You're laborers, you're supposed to be laboring! That's what you get for not having an education!!

I agree, that was insane! I mean when your extra activities are interfering with the school work, it is too much. These kids were starting their homework at like 9 or 10 at night. That was ridiculous.

I wondering why they act like that

because of all the dry cleaning chemicals the Asian dad inhaled
