drives me crazy how she pronouces "acceptable"

Funny, I just heard a woman on TV who spoke with a very low-class accent, and her mispronunciation of "acceptable" made me think of Jo Frost. Nothing shows off a lack of education more than not knowing the proper pronunciation of words. In British English, the word is pronounced with the "k" sound, the same as in American English.

I think that's just her accent.

She has a very low class accent...she says the "t" in often and adds a "s" to the end of cost

it is the same as a an American saying LL I B AX yo daddy ifen yo got to get some scratch fer morrow I aint hv none
