would this show be a lot better if i understood wtf they were talking about?

the type of scientist jill is, i dont even know what that means (im swedish)

Use Wikipedia, and no, I prefer not to know since they're probably talking nonsense...

I know it's based on fact, but it can't be complete facts.

To the original post:
Can you imagine if they tried to explain all the science to normal people? It just doesn't fit into a show.

Well, being a student in molecular biotechnology I understand most(if not all) of the science in this show and I don't think I would love it as much if I didn't understand the science. If you're somewhat interested in science, biology especially, you should definitely get something out of it though.

The science in this show is as someone said, a lot of "what ifs". It deals with scenarios that might happen in the not-so-distant future. As an example: shortly after ReGenesis' first season, which involved David resurrecting the worst pandemic in history The Spanish flu, scientists announced that they had reconstructed the genetic sequence of the 1918 strain of the Spanish Flu that killed between 50 and 100 million people(estimated).

The OP does have a point though. Even though I have a BS in Chemical Engineering and have taught high school science classes, the material concerning biology, biotechnology, and genetics is often beyond my understanding.

But I just shrug and roll with it. At least it isn't made-up stuff like Trek.

So it goes.

Maybe, I do understand some cause I did advance sciences in highschool. A lot doesn't make sense but I get the idea so it's passable. Also it helps the way there's people that don't understand in the show so they have to explain it in simpler terms like Catherine for example, she is not science related so people like David have to simplify it to her and make it easier for us to understand.
