One thing I thought about though, is that if you liked that series, you might want to watch Naruto sometime. They're kind of similar and I think you'd like it...(I've never met a person who has actually disliked it.)But I suppose that Naruto isn't really as bright as Edward Elric... to say the least... hehe...

You're right, that really is a weird pic... and why is he wearing the towel like that!? It's just not normal.
I love Kakashi to, but I have a weak spot for Sasuke... as he was my first favourite anime character ever and just has such a dislikable personality. I always tend to like the odd characters, with a few exceptions, of course.

What do you think of the animation in GetBackers? I think it's kind of cool, but some people seem to think it is too "computer-made" (if you understand what I mean... I don't know the english word) I prefer the GetBackers animation over most other and I think it is a bit unique.

I made a really big mistake yesterday... I downloaded the last FMA eps and watched them... just SO stupid. Why did I do that! Now I know how it'll end! But I can't help myself, I guess... gah.

I agree about Sasuke's personality and, at times, I seem to like those type of characters, too!

I like the animation of GB. Though I have seen several series, I have never "studied" their style; though I can see a difference between the older an newer animes. I think you mean computer generated. Again, it doesn't bother me. If someone told to watch another anime and compare it against GB, perhaps I can see the difference then. I'm just enjoying the story lines for now.

I saw episode 28 (The Man Who Lost His Past) last night. That was pretty good. Ban used the Jagan on that guy, I was not expecting that.

Oh, no!!! You saw the last episode of FMA?!?!? Well, just try to forget everything you saw!! I was not expecting that ending, though, did you? I had heard about one thing in particular, but that happened in episode 50 (or whatever the second to the last episode number is); so the final episode surprised me. Have you gone over to the FMA message board, yet? You really should, if you haven't. I used to post a lot there when the show was broadcast on TV. Repeats are being shown now, but I tend to lurk more now. I am watching the series, again, because I have either missed some small but important details or had forgotten parts of it. It's a great anime.

I think episode 28 is quite strange, as it rememers me of a film I watched a few months ago called "The Borne supremacy". It was about a skilled agent who had lost his memory and didn't even remember his own name... Sounds familiar? (I kind of liked that movie, so if you haven't seen it already, I recommend it)

I think it's unexpected every time Ban uses his Jagan... But the more you watch the show, the more you start suspceting when he does and doesn't. The first time I wached the first episode, though, I didn't know anything about Ban's power, so I was convinced they had died for real... (which had been very weird and... bad)

I went over to the FMA message board yesterday, and I wrote one short peice... but it seems like there are quite a lot of people there, so I think I'll need some time to really understand what they are talking about... (as I haven't watched the entire show yet)... But I saw that there were a lot of girls who were interested in which character you think is the "hottest"... hum.

Anyway, I agree with you when you say that The end was unexpected... I thought it was good, though, and a bit sad. Have you seen the FMA-movie yet? I really loved it! It was great and I the end was... well, it was happy at least... and kind of cute too.

I didn't see "The Bourne Supremacy" but I did read the book many years ago. That was a great book, I should re-read it but I'm read "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown now.

The first episode was good and startling. Like you said, it appeared they had died! I also remember how startled Natsumi (?)(the girl who hired them and then was hired by Paul. I can't recall her name) was when she looked into Ban's eyes. Then, I think, he pushed his sun glasses up to cover them. I didn't grasp the importance of that scene until the end of the episode. Perhaps she "felt" some of his power.

I'm sorry to hear that the FMA board has a lot of girls and their "hottest" topic. That's disappointing. I'm wondering if they are bored now, since the series has completed its initial run in the USA. When the show was first broadcast, there were a lot of good discussions about the episodes. Several people had seen the series and were helpful in answering questions. I'm heading over there and adding my two cents....

Did you know that the storyline in the FMA manga is VERY different from the anime? They've changed quite a lot and I think the manga is better than the anime, which is really unusual... (It is probably the best manga I've ever read...)
Have you read the manga yet? I did it this weekend on the internet, as I found a really great site. I just couldn't stop reading.

Have you seen some Fruits Basket eps yet? I'm just curious....

The episode was good but a little sad, too. When Tohru got sick and she was telling Shigure about the things that happened in her life, I felt a little sad. But the ending made me laugh, so I felt better then. I guess I'll need to purchase that manga, too.

Hehe... I'm glad you feel the same way about Fruits Basket that I do. It is probably the only "cute" show I really like, but that may be because it's SO funny and that all the characters are just wonderful... (just wait till you see Ayame, he is one of the most crazy characters I've ever seen, but I adore him anyway) The show just gets better and better with every episode, but sometimes Tohru really is too clueless... you'll see what I mean soon enough... hehe

The site I used for the FMA manga was http://www.readmanga.com/ and I really recommend it. They are really fast to upload the new chapters on that site, too. But don't start reading if you have a lot of other things to do! I promise you you'll want to read it all as soon as you start...(if you're anything like me and can't stop when you've found something great)

You know, I LOVE spoilers! (Odd, isn't it?) So you don't have to avoid talking about things even if you don't know whether I've seen them yet or not, it's OK, I'll see them soon anyway.

I and some friends went to Stockholm, so I've been away for a few days, but I bought the two first FMA mangas there. I really love them and I found a shop where they weren't too expensive. Isn't is a bit weird that the only place where you can purchase manga is in one store in the capital? Of course, you can order manga on the internet, but that's not the same thing.

Bleach is a really great series! And then I mean both the manga and the anime. But it is not finished yet, so I'm waiting for the 77 episode at the moment... and the next manga too. I think you'll love it. (At least I hope you will)

I think the last episode FMA ep I saw was 28, when the brothers were stuck on that island and had a lot of flashbacks. I liked that episode and I can't wait to see who that little kid was...

I had a really good time in Stockholm! I live quite far from there (in a town called Karlstad near a big lake called Vänern, where do you live by the way?) But I still go to Stockholm quite often, as I love that city. It is so beautiful in the oldest parts of it and it's so big and so small at the same time... Here in Sweden we use to say that our capital is probably the largest "small-city" in the whole world. (If you ever visit Sweden, you have to go there) But you know, I felt a bit sorry that I wasn't going to be able to write to you. I really enjoy our chats too! (I wouldn't write this much if I weren't)

Anyway, I've just watched 6 more FMA episodes, and I think some things are very weird... (I'm not joking when I say that they have changed A LOT of things)... It's almost not the same story, as some people aren't in the manga at all... You know, the way Greed die is totally different and the whole massacre at that place Al's taken to after the kidnapping is... well, never mind me... Who cares, really? Both versions of the story are great, but I don't understand why they changed that much.

Oh, I just remembered that I haven't asked you who your favourite character is in FMA. I'm not sure who I like the most, but for some unknown reason I just love everyone who calls Ed a shrimp...(or midget/shorty)...hehe.

I'm glad you enjoyed Stockholm, it sounds like a wonderful place. I live in Maryland and not very far from Washington D.C. There is so much to see and do there. I also live near Baltimore, which offers a lot of entertainment, including shopping, museums, and an aquarium.

So now you have been introduced to Wrath and his connection with Izumi. I actually felt sorry for him, at first; then Envy got him and his "true colors" have been revealed. The rest of the series will go very fast, I think. So much happens in each episode.

I guess my favorite character was Maes Hughes. Oh,my, how I cried when he died. I was so upset! I also like Mustang and Izumi. I never really cared for any of the Homunculi (sp) during the initial run of the series. But after it was over, I felt sorry for Lust. I think she was so conflicted. I also liked Envy because he just didn't care about anything.

I do like Ed's reaction whenever he's called shorty, shrimp, etc. Very funny. Something else you'll see about Ed, during the rest of the series, is his change of attitude. I won't say what it is, just watch him.....

Finally! I've seen it all!

It feels both good and bad at the same time when you watch the last episode of a great series, doesn't it? It's hard to describe the feeling. I thought the ending was awsome and I understod it better this time, but it's so sad. Why do they have to be separated...? (Even though the movie takes care of that matter, it's still sad... Don't worry... I'll not give away any spoilers)

I too felt sorry for Lust. She wasn't really an evil person after all. And I think I see what you mean with Ed's attitude... I think he got a bit more "determined" somehow.
There is only one thing that disapointed me and (this may sound silly) that is that Mustang and Hawkeye never really got to show their true feeling for each other... I think it would have been kind of nice and you know... why not put in a bit of romance in the end? (I know that there is a quite cute scene when Mustang is in the hospital, but that doesn't count)

I just saw one more GetBackers episode I hadn't seen yet. It was a bit weird and at first I thought that Ban and Ginji had become enemies... (It's ep 34)

How often are they broadcasting GetBackers on the "network"? And how many other series are there on it?

OMG, I can't believe you've finished it! It was great, though, wasn't it?

I know what you mean about watching the ending of a show. I was glad but sort of sad because I got so “involved” with the show and characters. I just can’t explain it.

I was hoping for a happy ending for Ed and Al. I was expecting them to be together and normal, again. It’s interesting how Al has no memory of what had happened, isn’t it? He still seems so innocent but determined, like Ed. Ed is still the same on the other side, determined and strong willed. I can’t wait to see the movie! You used a good word to describe Ed in the later episodes, determined. To me, he was just mad as heck! In the earlier episodes, he laughed and smiled a couple of times, but he had the weight of the world on his shoulders.

I felt sorry for Lust, too, especially in that one episode when she kept wondering who she was and where she was going (or something like that.) I kind of felt sorry for Gluttony, too! He was so lost without his Lust; and then he ate Dante!! I guess just Gluttony, Envy, and Wrath are the only survivors (I think they said that Wrath just disappeared or walked away, I can’t remember which.)

Now about Mustang and Riza…

Have you finished reading the manga, yet? I read something interesting on another board (I had to check your postings, first, to make sure you didn’t tell me! Ha –ha) I’m going to type a spoiler, so here is your warning…..

And I agree with you, I wished they show about more “romance” between these two, too.

The Anime Network (TAN) updated GB once every 2 weeks (14 days). The episode is shown for about 1 month and then it’s removed. TAN used to show a lot of anime, especially current anime, but there was a conflict with Comcast (the cable TV provider that I have.) Comcast decided to broaden its own anime selection and limited TAN to 10 hours per month. Unfortunately, their selection is quite slim. Besides GetBackers, they are showing DN Angel, Princess Tutu, Full Metal Panic, Area 88, and Gatchman. (I’m watching all except Gatchman, it really didn’t grab my interest). These shows are “free” as a part of the regular cable service. These selections are under the VOD (Video on Demand) section. You can watch them whenever you want, at any time, as long as it’s available. TAN also has another section which you must pay $3.99 to view the anime. In this section, they are showing Gilgamesh, Full Metal Panic FUMOFFO (which is a “spin off” of the original FMP) and A Tree of Palme (I think it’s a movie.) I don’t watch any of these, since I have to pay extra and my bill is large, already! I’m hoping to watch another episode of GB this week so we can discuss it.

Wow... you actually wrote all that... I'm impressed. You see, I'm one of those persons who are a bit forgetful and I would never, ever, be able to remember stuff like that. I have some questions, though. When did you start watching anime on TAN? Is it expensive? And do you think it is possible for me to get it? (sorry if I ask stupid questions, but I'm really oblivious when it comes to things like this)

Anyway, to answer your question; yes, I have read all the FMA manga chapters I have found on the net. I think there are about 58 of them, but people are translating new ones all the time.
What you said about Hawkeye's father is true, but there is more to it... SPOILER WARNING!... It was her father who invented the whole "flame alchemy" thing, but he didn't want to teach Mustang how to do it, as he was about to become a state alchemist. But on his deathbed, he changed his mind and told Mustang that if he asked his daughter, she would probably present the secret to him, as she knew all about his research... END OF SPOILER.

That really made me start thinking. If her father was Mustang's sensei and she taught him how to control fire, then why isn't she an alchemist...? Even though alchemy isn't something you have to inherit, she must have talent. Or what do you think?

I understand what you mean when you say you got involved with the show. I feel the same way! I simply loved it and actually look forward to watch the again, but this time together with some of my friends who are suffering from anime-abstinence. And this time I'll finally be able to watch it on a television, as I've bought a DviX DVD! YAY! (I've always watched anime on the computer and my back hurts like hell sometimes)

You're right, the ending was unexcpected, to say the very least. I prefer happy endings and I was a bit dissapointed at first when the brothers were separated... (there are some things I really want to tell you, but... I'd spoil the movie)

You really have to see the movie! It's awesome! It got the awards "Animation of the year", "Best original story" and "Best music" last year. I think I'll buy it when it is released, as the version I downloaded had some subtitle-problems. But it is really annoying that it'll not be released in the U.S. until the third of october...(which means it'll not get here until around december) I'm too impatient and don't want to wait that long... gah.

You bring up a very good question about Hawkeye not being an alchemist. Let me answer your question with another question, please. Is Hawkeye’s mother present in the manga? I’m asking because if she’s not, maybe something happened between her parents and the cause was alchemy. Or maybe in the area where she was raised, alchemy was taboo for females (though we know Izumi and Dante are alchemists.) You bring up a very good question!

That’s great about the DVD player. I always wondered how people were able to sit several hours at a desk to watch anime (or even movies.) I always need to get up and move around every 30 to 45 minutes.

Too bad for me... I can't get TAN. But I'm not surprised.

I don't think Hawkeye's mother is present (not if I remeber right, anyway) so your idea might be true. When I read that part of the manga, I "felt" that it was something very wrong about the father... Can't say what it was, really, but he seemed a bit too... old. Almost as if he was dead even before he died... (sounds weird, doesn't it?) But I can't explain it in any other way.

Hum. Now when I've finished FMA, I have to find a new great anime to watch. Have you got any tips/suggestions? You've seen so many series...
But maybe I could rewatch some old ones. I haven't watched Kenshin since november, so I might see that one again, as it is so good. If you ever get a chance to see it, you really should. It is a great show, but the dub sucks... I think it might be the worst dub ever, to be honest.

Is Kenshin the same as Rurouni Kenshin, the TV series or one of the movies? I’ve seen a few episodes of the TV series (I would always forget that it was on, so I missed 98% of the series!) One series I’m currently watching is Chrono Crusades. Here is a brief description…

The year is 1928 A.D. The place is New York, U.S.A. The economic prosperity brought forth after the Great War also heightened the presence of something far darker and much more sinister: the demonic Sinners. The Magdalene Order is an organization that tries to counter this force. Two of its exorcists are Rosette Christopher and her assistant, Chrono. Both appear out of place in an organization like this, and they are in a quest to find Rosette's missing brother, Joshua. Their relationships, secrets and fates can only be revealed in time...

Oh, how I love being away having a good time! Everything is simply wonderful and the weather has been great over here too, which is quite remarkable. Things have become a bit less hard, due to my five-day break. I'm just feeling really happy at the moment. hehe...

Anyway, Chrono Crusades sounds great and I think I'll try to get a few episodes. I'm interested in the 20's for many reasons and I have read several books about that time in history. Do you know how many episodes there are?

You're right, the Kenshin I mean is the Kenshin in Rurouni Kenshin. I like the show, but the movies (or the OVAs) are probably the most beautiful anime ever made. Some people think they are a bit too serious and too "bloody" (I mean that a lot of people die in grotesque ways) but I love them. They are so real and so sad, I even cried once when I saw them and that's not something I do very otfen... (at least I don't admit it...)

The weather is wonderful here. A little overcast today, but the temperature is in the mid 70's. NICE!

I saw the next episode of GB the other day, number 29. It's the one where Ban and Ginji are hired by Ms. Clayman to find the "arms" of the Venus de Milo. Ginji looked at the photo and said, "Hey, it's the Statue of Liberty!" ha-ha Has he always been this "dumb"? I don't recall him being this silly in the earlier episodes; perhaps I have forgotten.

Any, Dr. Jackal has made an appearance in this episode, too. It leaves at a good cliffhanger, though, Ban falls into the harbor while chasing a yacht and Gingi is calling out to him.

Well, I know what you mean when you say that Ginji seems to be "too stupid" in that ep. He has always been a bit oblivious, but if you don't know the difference between the Statue of Liberty and Venus de Milo, you have to be a real idiot and I have never thought of Ginji as and idiot. Maybe compared to Ban... but that's not strange at all, as Ban is one of the most intelligent persons in the whole series.
But Ginji has other great qualities. He is just so cute and nice and his power to generate electricity is kind of cool... and I can't help but adore his shibi-self.

Personally, I'm very fond of the following episodes (30-33) and I think you'll like them too.

What do you think about Dr. Jakal? I think he is a bit too obsessed about Ginji... and killing Ban-chan... (I have wondered for a while now if Ginji says Ban-chan in the dubbed verison of the anime... or not)

If memory serves me correctly (and as of late, it has not! ha-ha), in the first episode, both Ban and Gingi showed off their talents; Ban with his Jagan and killer strength and Gingi with his electricity power. As the series progressed, it seems that we have seen Ban use his powers more than Gingi (again, I'm depending on my poor memory!) I do like to see Gingi use his power more, though, as he did during the IL Retrieval Mission arc.

I'm looking forward in seeing the the next few episodes, too.

Now about Dr. Jakal....hmmm...I'm not sure about him. At first, I didn't like him. I saw him as a "bad" guy when he was first introduced. Then I kind of liked him during the IL Retrieval Mission arc when he was paired up with Gingi (who was soooo afraid to be left alone with him.) I got the impression that Gingi was afraid that Jackal was going to kill him. I never got the impression that Jackal was "attracted" to Gingi, though. I'm also not getting the impression that Jackal wants to kill Ban, either. (Remember, booklover=bad memeory! Plus, TAN is showing only 2 new episodes this month. )

You know, when I said that I thought Jakal was "obsessed" with Ginji, I didn't mean that he was "attracted" to him... at least I didn't mean to imply that... but come to think of it, why not? hum. Anyway, if you haven't got the impression that Jackal wants to kill Ban... just wait, you'll see soon enough what I mean.

Oh, too bad for you if you only get to see two new episodes this month! I'd go nuts if I was following a series and someone else limited the number of episodes I could watch.
I don't think is strange if you don't remember everything from all the shows you watch. It would have been really surprising if you did. And hey, you're not the only one who has got a bad memory. I forget stuff all the time, which can be really annoying from time to time...(and it makes my friends want to kill me...hehe)

Well, what can I say... I never really thought that they would keep the -chan in the dub, even though I think it's a pity they didn't. I don't know if you understand what it is that is so funny about it, so I'll tell you. Everyone calls Ban "Midou-san" (which means "Mr. Midou") but Ginji who always calls him "Ban-chan". No one else would ever dream of calling him that, as it means something like "sweet, little Ban"...(if I have undertod it properly) So it is kind of ironic that Ginji calls him that... as Ban calls himself "Midou Ban-sama", which means "The allmighty and outstanding Midou Ban"...

That's funny how Ban calls himself that. I wished they had kept such things like that in the dubbed versions. I think the viewers loose the true meaning of the characters' relationships with these terms.

It's not your fault that I can't express myself in English that well, so if I write something that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, just ignore it, ok?

Anyway, you have a point when you say that some of the "true meaning" is lost in dubs in general, but at the same time the dubs are usually more fun to watch (if they don't suck, that is). As it takes such a long time to say something in Japanese, the "dubbers" have to fill out the conversations with jokes and insults... as I have mentioned before, the Yu Yu Hakusho dub is a great example of this...

Ever since I started watching amine and reading manga, I've become very fascinated by Japanese culture and I'm seriously starting to wonder if this is normal. You know, I've even decided to take a 100 hour course in the language! And I feel so happy about it! Yay! And I think I'll visit the country next year...(if my wallet permits)

I've started watching a couple of new series.

Piano - Miu Nomura is a 14-year-old 8th-grader who has been playing piano since early childhood. She grows up gradually while her friendship, kinship, and love affairs evolve around her, but those relationships inevitably affect her piano performance.

Shingu - The day after an apparent alien invasion of Tokyo is repelled by a mysterious being, middle schooler Murata Hajime discovers that his small town holds a strange secret when he witnesses transfer student Subaru Muryou fight another student using psychic powers. Since Hajime himself is relatively new to his town, he has been unaware that the leading families have been protecting the earth from alien invasion for centuries by using the ability of "Shingu," and that the current members of the middle school student council are also the chosen guardians of this generation. He also begins to discover that many of the town's residents are in fact intergalactic diplomats. Hajime is drawn futher into this open secret as his friendship with Muryou and the "chosen" teenagers -- especially tomboy Moriyama Nayuta -- deepens and as he begins to discover that he has a role to play in Earth's future.

Maze - Maze wakes up in her house, everything is a wreck and she has amnesia. Before she can gather what has happened the girl Mill storms into her house thanking her for having saved her life. She tells Maze that her house suddenly fell down from the sky and crushed Mills pursuers under it. However before long they are both on the run from further pursuers who want their hands on princess Mill. They are only saved when Maze discovers that she has phantom light magical powers and can summon Mills family heirloom mecha. However her performance with the mecha is weak; that is until the sun goes down and she is turned in to a lecherous man. Soon other travellers join them as Maze tries to protect Mill and figure out what she is doing in this fantasy world.

They are pretty interesting. I'm just trying to broaden my exposure to anime.

I think all of those series sound interesting, but which one of them do you like the most...? I've been looking around for good shows for a while now, as I couldn't download any CC eps. So I haven't watched any anime at all since I finished FMA. I've heard that a lot of people think that Trigun is a great show... so I might try that one. What do you think of it? Hello again, Booklover!

Hehe... you know, I followed your advice and downloaded the first Witch Hunter Robin episode and I'm really glad I did. It was really good (especially the animation) and I can't wait to see more. One thing I misunderstod, though, was that Robin was a girl, so that surprised me quite a bit. And I don't think I have grasped what the "hunters" are really doing, or what this "craft" thing is. It'll be interesting to find out...

I have also watched the 15 first Trigun episodes and I just love it. Vash has become one of my favourite characters ever. He is just such a nice guy. The only thing i find a bit annoying is that all of the "evil dudes" are too ugly... but Trigun is not the only show with that tendency. One of the reasons I like GB so much might be because the evil charcters are not terribly bad looking... if you know what I mean...

By the way, have you seen the next GB episode yet? If you have, what did you think about it? Oh, soon you'll see episode 39! I wish they could hurry up the show a bit, as I really want to hear what you think about that one.

Trigun is a fun anime. It has an interesting twist, though.

I have not had the chance to see GB, yet. Work got really busy and now I'm trying to prepare things for Mother's Day. If you're not familiar with this holiday, Mother's Day is a holiday we dedicate to our mothers. Like a "thank you" day. They receive flowers, presents, etc. Many people take their mothers to dinner so they don't have to cook for a day. I usually fix dinner and invite my parents to my place (they live about 30 minutes from me). So I've been cleaning and buying food today! I'm taking a break for now, but will need to clean my office, though, it's a MESS!

The weather is nice here, today. A little cloudy, low 70's. We had quite a bit of rain yesterday and everything is nice and fresh and green, now. I love spring!

How are things at home for you?

We have a day like that over here too, but we call it Mors Dag, which basically means the same thing as Mother's Day. We don't "celebrate" it that much, though, maybe buy some chocolate, but that's about it. I believe the idea of Mors Dag is something we have "taken" from you Americans, as we have done with so many other holidays (Halloween, Valentine's Day... and so on) But these are not as "big" as or own holidays (Jul, Midsommarafton, Alhelgona... and Valborg as I have already mentioned)
We'll soon be celebrating Midsommarafton. I cannot really translate what it means, but something like "the night of the middle of summer" is the closest I can get. We celebrate Midsommar because it's the longest day of the year and the sun is up the whole night sometimes. Very beautiful.

So that's a little Swedish culture for you...

The weather is really great over here, around 30 degrees celsuis and the sun refuses to go down. I think I've become a bit more content with everything and soon I'll have a two month-break from school. I hope I'll find a job, as I want to have at least some money to spend on things. I have also entered one of my "tea drinking periods" again. Tea is what takes me through the day.
Today was a really awesome day. I am a huge fan of Queen and today I finally got to see a Queen show with one of Europe's best musical-artists. I have been waiting to see it for months. It was great!

Oh, sorry... I've just been rambling on about myself and said nothing about anime at all... Well, I'll get back to the topic next time.

Oh, hello again, Booklover! Good to hear from you... I was starting to wonder where you were...

Well, yes, I'm still watching Trigun, even though I've already seen all the episodes. I really liked it, but it was just so sad when Wolfwood died... I felt so sorry for him. However, I'm seriously starting to wonder what it is that is wrong with Vash's brother. He is mental, or at least he appears to be...hum.

You know what? - I have the whole GetBackers series now! I feel so happy, as I got the last episodes yesterday and haven't watched them yet...(haven't got the time to do so now either as I have a 5-hour national test in math tomorrow...gah)
But anyway, I hope I'll be able to see them in the week-end.

So you love Queen too? That's just awesome! I never thought they were very famous in the U.S... Have you got a favourite song? I haven't, but some are better than others... At the moment, I like to listen to "Don't Stop Me Now" and "Who Wants To Live Forever".

I really have to get some more WHR eps! I love the show and I think Robbin seens to be a wonderful character. A bit more "real" than most other main characters.

Trigun is a unique anime, indeed. I cried when Wolfwood died! And Millie was so upset, too. That episode was very sad.

That's great that you got the entire GB series! CONGRATS!!

I like many of Queen's songs, but I guess my favorites are Bohemian Rhapsody and Somebody to Love. Freddie Mercury had a wonderful voice.

I liked Robin's character, too; though my favorite is Armon and his brother (he appears later in the series).

Things are fine here, but a bit busy at work. The weather is a little cool, surprisingly. In MD, we are actually experiencing "spring!" It usually gets very hot and humid in May and stays that way through September. I actually took the day after Mother's Day off so I could rest... and watch anime!

Tell me about this national math test you have to take. I assume it is required. What other tests are you required to take?

Hi, you too!

Well, the national tests are a quite important part of our schoolsystem and everyone who attends the "gymnasium" have to take them (I know the word means something very different in English). Our gymnasium is kind of like your upper-highschool, I think, as you are between 16 and 19 when you go there. Anyway, we only have to take them in the three "base-subjects" English, Swedish and Math. I guess it's a way to check that we learn anything, but they're not really like exams. The English tests are always the easiest and the Math tests are always the ones that take most time... Gah, after 4 hours in that room, it feels like you wouldn't know what 1+1 was if anyone asked you....
These tests are the only tests we are required to take, apart from the so called "högskoleprovet"... that is a test most students choose to take in order to get into a university. But here in Sweden, almost everybody (if you haven't got some kind of "problem") goes to the university somewhere. You just have to, if you want to get a job.

So now I have taken all of my tests! I'll not have to take any more until next spring! Hum... maybe I should go down to the city and celebrate this...?

Anyway, I think you did the right thing to take a day of! I'd like to do that once in a while too. Nothing is better than to be at home and be able to relax...(and watch anime)... Hum... I'm so lazy.

Have you started watching any new series?

By the way, what do you think of Cowboy Bebop? I've heard that a lot of people really like that anime... But I read some postings about the story and I think it seems a bit... hum... "unusual". I think I'll give it a shot, though.

We have similar tests here, too. They are called the SATs (Scholastic Aptitude Tests). These are taken to get into universities and colleges. The higher the score, the better your chances (among other factors) of getting into the college of your choice.

I'm glad your tests are over until next year! UGH, I hate tests! I always get nervous. ha-ha

I have seen Cowboy Bebop and it was pretty good. The cast is quite interesting and, at times, very funny. There is also a CB movie, which I really loved!

Ok, so you liked the quote? Hum, weird... Maybe I'll pick a better one next time. I also get really nervous when I know someone is going to judge my work. But it's even more "nervevracking" when you're supposed to hold a presentation in front of a room full of people who're expecting too much of you... (I had that experience a few weeks ago )

OH and I hate public speaking, too! At my job, we have quarterly meetings and several people give presentations. I've told my boss that if he makes me do one that I'll sit next to him and barf on him! So far, I have not been chosen, but I know it's coming soon.

OH, I love Monty Pyton! I've seen most of their movies and used to watch the series late at night. I still catch some of the series on TV every now and then. I think my favorite scene in the Holy Grail is when the two nights are fighting. The one knight keeps losing a limb but he keeps fight, anyway. The other knight says, "What are you going to do, bleed all over me?" (or something like that. It has been a long time since I've seen the movie!). I also like the scene with the killer rabbits!

Thanks for the link! I'll start to download CB soon, but at the moment I'm still too much into GB. I must take some anime-free days now... I've seen all the GB episodes, but I'll have to watch them all again, as I haven't seen them in the right order. That can be kind of confusing sometimes, but if you download, for example, the last ep, it's quite hard not to watch it out of curiosity...
Anyway, I think the show ended in a kind of good, but at the same time dissapointing way. I'll not spoil it for you. I feel a bit "empty" now, that's the best way I can describe it. GB was, and is, one of the best shows I've ever watched and it is kind of special to me. Buhu

I really like the GB, too! I hope I don't feel some sort of "emptiness" when the series end like I did with FMA. With FMA, the characters were so emotional that I was just drawn to them. What a great anime! I'm not feeling that emotional "attachment" to the GB characters, yet; though I did like the way Shido cared for the blind girl. But we only saw that for one or two episodes, it was carried throughout the series.

I hope you'll enjoy CB, I certainly did. I really liked the movie, especially the character named Vincent. He was a bad guy, totally crazy, too!

Have you ever seen the Mr. Bean series? I stumbled upon them about 10 years ago and just fell in love with that show. I would laugh so hard that I would cry!

Of course I've seen the Mr. Bean series! Mr. Bean is a part of Christmas and New Years for us in Scandinavia. I just love Rowan Atginson, he is so wonderful in the role... But every time I watch one of the "sketches" I find myself wondering how he found out that he could make all of those faces... he can change his features in just a second. The show is really hilarious, so I've even bought the DVD-collection. I watch them when I'm feeling down or a bit sick. Mr. Bean can always make things a little easier. Together with Fawlty Towers, it's my favoutite English comedy-series.
Have you seen the Black Adder show too?

Hum. Maybe the reason I like GB so much is because it was my second anime. The first one I watched was Naruto and it made me obsessed with anime. After Naruto, I just wanted more. When I saw the first GB episode, I knew I'd like that show even more. I got the same feeling when I saw the first Bleach and FMA episodes too.
I feel a very strong connection with all of these four shows, so I guess they are my favourites so far, but I still have many series left. But to be honest, I just watch anything that catches my attention and appears to be interesting.
I've downloaded the first two CB episodes now by the way and I'll watch them tonight if time permits.

I've got a question about a rumour I've heard a lot about lately. Will you get your own version of the Eurovision Song Contest in America? I'm just curious, but I hope the rumour isn't true. You see, I'm not very fond of that contest... it takes too much space. It'd be fun to know, though.

My favorite Mr. Bean episode is the one with the Christmas turkey and it got stuck on his head. Too funny! I've seen a few episodes of Fawlty Towers but have not seen the Black Adder series. I need to check the TV schedule for the next showing.

I've been watching Naruto on Saturdays. They are taking the test (forgot the name of it). They have taken the written part and now they are in the forest. Both Naruto and Sauske (sp?) were unconscious and Rock Lee and others came to help Sakura (sp?).

I’m not familiar with the Song Contest. What is it about? There are so many reality shows and contests here that I can’t keep up with them. I realize that my TV watching is quite limited. I watch anime, local and national news, and occasionally a movie. Every now and then I might get hooked on a series, like Blow Out (about a Beverly Hills hairdresser and his co-workers). I read a lot, but less now since the weather is getting nicer.

I love that episode too! But I feel so sorry for his "girlfriend" every time I watch it. She thinks he is going to propose, but he gives her a thing to put up pictures with instead...

I have re-watched Naruto at least two times and somehow I think it's a pity the episodes are so slow. And when you come up to the episode 135, the fillers begin... I hate fillers, they're just so stupid and it has come a new Naruto filler every week for more than a year now! I thought they had ended, but no I was wrong... I'll go nuts if they don't end soon! It's such a bad way to "kill" a great series.
What do you think of the show?

Well, the Eurovision Song Contest is not an ordinary "reality show". Here in Europe, I think it has been one contest each year since 1956. Almost all of the countries take part in it and it is very prestigeous to win... Every nation present one song. But the songs are usually very bad, so I really hope you'll not have to have this contest in America too.

I read as much as I can when I have some sparetime, but I get so tired all the time and I can't find any good books. Soon I'll have a LONG holiday and I guess I'll read some books. Have you got any tips?

Oh, yes, Mr. Bean and his long-suffering girlfriend!

I like Naruto. I have chuckled several times while watching it. I have seen only the dubbed version but have heard a lot of complaints about it. Many people do like Naruto's dubbed voice (I think a woman is providing it).

The song contest sounds interesting. I haven't heard anything about it coming to the USA, though. But who knows what will happen in the future!

Well, what types of books do you like? I just love vampire books!!! Then I get sick of them and start reading other types, like mysteries or classics. Last year I read the "Left Behind" series by LaHaye and Jenkins. Very good, IMO. The series is based on the Bible's Rapture and what happens to all the people who are 'left behind.' There are 12 books in this series, and then they published a couple of prequels. I haven't read the prequels, yet, but I was kind of tired of the series after reading the other books for a year. Then I read a few quick read books (each one takes about a week to read. The Bridget Jones Diaries' series and I few other which I can't recall!) Then I read about 6 of Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter books. (I think a lot of females read this series, though I'm sure some men do, too.)

I'm currently reading "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown. I'm sure it will take me all spring and summer to complete it because I don't read that much when the weather is nice. I try to be outside as much as possible. Plus I'm sneaking in a few mangas, too!

Sorry I haven't posted anything here for a few days, but I've been away "up north"... and I've just spent 9 hours in a car, so at the moment I feel kind of "gone"

I'm glad to hear that you like Naruto, but I think the dubben version might have earned those "complaints". I haven't seen a dubbed episode yet, but I saw a trailer some months ago. But maybe I'm mistaken...

I've seen the five first CB episodes now! YAY! And I love it, especialy Spike. He is just so... well, I don't know what really. Anyway, I like him very much. I saw episode nr 5 yesterday and it made me wonder a few things. It's possible that I missed something obvious, but are Spike and "vicious" brothers? They didn't look like it, but I thought they said that they were related in some way. And one more thing; was Spike evil when he was younger? Everything happened so fast, so I didn't understand it all...

Well, I like most kinds of books. I read anything from Dumas to manga... as long as it is a well-written. But I have to admit that it has been quite a while since I finished a book. You see, I always start reading around midnight for some unknown reason, and that means that I very often wake up with a book in my face. So I never "get into" (if you understand what I mean with that) books anymore. At the moment, I'm reading a really odd book called "How to get to know a tree"... Quite a strange title, isn't it? It is about (and is written by) a famous singer who suffers from lack of ideas. She thinks about other stuff all the time... and when she dreams away, things get really funny and interesting
I haven't read any vampire books at all, but I know they're popular. Maybe I'll try one of those

I tried to read "Angels and Demons" last summer, but I gave up after 50 pages. It might have been because of the nice weather, but more likely I don't like Brown. When I read the "Da Vinci Code" I thought it was a good book, but I didn't see anyting special with it. I must, obviously, have missed something about it, as everybody else but me seems to think it's the best book ever written.
Oh, summer!!! Just one more week to go! After that I'll work for a couple of weeks as a caretaker, but after that I'll enjoy the sun!

The dubbed animes never bother me because I’ve never seen the original anime; so I have nothing to compare them to. I did see the first episodes (original) of Fruits Basket and Bleach.

Unfortunately, I’ve seen CB out of order, meaning I started watching it mid-series and then watched it from the beginning to mid series, again! If memory serves me correctly, Spike and Vicious were in the syndicate together. Perhaps they were referred to as “blood brothers?” So yes, Spike was evil for a while and then he left the syndicate and he and Vicious have been enemies since then. There are others things involved with their relationship which you’ll see later in the series.

I know what you mean about falling asleep while reading. Many winters I have been awaken when a hard back novel has fallen on my face! OUCH! The book you’re reading seems very interesting and different. Goodness, there are so many books and just not enough time to read them all! So far Angels and Demons is pretty good. For years, I always thought that I was the “oddball” who liked vampire books. None of my friends did, then my college roommate loaned me “Interview with the Vampire” by Anne Rice and a found a new friend! Ha-ha.

Well, your summer sound pretty much planned! Good for you. I hope you have a great time. I may take a day or two off during the summer, but I normally save my vacation time for the winter. I’m going to take 2 weeks off around Christmas this year. I may even treat myself to a cruise. My friends and family want me to go and just might do it this year.

I should be seeing the next episode of GB this week.

You know what? - I started watching Chrono Crusade yesterday and now I'm really hooked! Anime has that effect on me, I just ge addicted and can't stop watching, even if I have other things to do. Anyway, I love the show! I've seen the 16 first episodes now and Chrono is just too cute and just too handsome when he turns into his "real" self. It's a pity he doesn't do that more often, even though it makes Rosette's life shorter... The only character I really dislike is Azmaria. She is very annoying and kind of a useless character. What do you think about her?

One thing I find a bit weird is that Rosette is a nun and obviously in love with Chrono. But still a nun. That's weird. And they run around with guns... I was really surprised after seeing the first episode. And now, after seeing the 16 ep, the thing I think most about is that Aion is scary, but kind of cool at the same time. He is a really great evil-character

I've heard that the show ends in a very sad way and that's too bad. I can't handle sad endings, or at least not very sad endings... Have you seen the whole series yet?

Oh, that is great you're watching CC! Isn't it wonderful?? I just love it. I've seen up to episode 15, where Rosette agrees to help the duke. I'll see the next episode on Friday (if I don't fall asleep! ha-ha) Personally, I like Chrono turns into his "real" self, too; he's very handsome, indeed. Though the younger Chrono is cute, too! Yes, Azmaria really gets on my nerves. She is so whiny! But I must give her credit, she has stepped in several times to help the team, but still, she always looks like she's about to cry.

Though I do like Chrono a lot, I think Aion is my favorite character. He's so evil, yet so cool.

I've heard about the sad ending, too. I know I'll cry!!!

Yes, I agree. The show is amazing! I like the story very much and I think it's great that it has such a strong female main-character. But I have to say that my favoutite charcter is Chrono. But I like other characters as well. Mostly the "odd" persons... I've told you before that I tend to like the main characters and the weird guys

Hum. I'm sure I'll feel like crying in the end too... It is almost like I don't want to watch the last episodes... But I'll not be able to refrain from seeing them. I have them all now, but I can't watch them today (I have to clean the whole apartment and write my last assingnment) But that is kind of good, as I've watched too much anime lately. I must have something else that can occupy my mind for now.

By the way; which GB episode will you watch next?

I saw episode 31 last night. I think it's called Hera and Kait (on ANN's website, it's called Hella and Kite)

Gingi has his joints dislocated by the "bad guys" and recognizes "the ring leader." She was the girlfriend of an artist's that Gingi knew.

I laughed when Gingi heard someone walking behind him, but he could only use one arm to crawl. Then he turned around and realized it was Ban. Then he started crying! ha-ha Gingi has been crying a lot, lately (or so it seems!)

I'm leaving soon for the day. My mother needs to have some medical tests done and I'm going with her.

Hehe... I really like the Venus de Milo episodes, but Ginji seems very "childish" in them. Not that he isn't a bit childish all the time, but (as you said) he is crying a lot. And he always gets so happy when he meets Ban again after being separated from him. Ban and Ginji are just so different, and that makes them so funny together...
If I remember right, I think that Ginji did something kind of stupid in the end of the episode. He had a thing on his back that revealed where he and the others were... and he didn't realize it!

I saw the last CC episodes yesterday anyway. I just couldn't resist, but afterwards I felt really down. It was SO sad! I promise I'll not spoil anything for you. Even though the end was sad, it wasn't a bad ending. It was knid of sweet, really... hum, but it still made me want to cry.
During the last eps, I realized that I liked the duke "Defaux".

You are so right about Gingi crying and then becoming happy when he sees Ban! Very funny, indeed.

You're right about the ending. Gingi had a "bug" or "transmitter" on his back, so the "bad guys" were able to determine where he and the gang were located. Then they were surrounded by a bunch of guys with guns.

I can't believe you finished CC, already! Tonight is the next episode for me. I hope I don't fall asleep (which I sometimes do!

Well you're right, when I start watching a show I usually finish it after just a few days. But it depends on how fast I can download the episodes. I started to see CB last week (as you know) but I live in two places and change homes once a week and I want to have one series at one place. So I can't see any more CB eps until next week... But I've already watched about 10, I think... I really love that show and I think I'll see the rest of the episodes next week. Aren't there just about 25 episodes? - And a movie, of course, which I really want to see. Everybody seems to think it's awesome...

So now you've watched episode nr 16 of CC, right? I thought that ep was kind of "dark". Aion was so like... Aion in it...
I felt a bit sad for "satella" (sp?) too...

I'll watch the whole show again on Tuesday with some of my friends. Hehe, I have to provide them with a new show once in a while I've also re-watched my favourite Bleach episodes... haha, you really have to see that show some time, it's so great and I think you'd love the main character, Ichigo (which means "strawberry", by the way)

Soon I'll go to Göteborg (Gothenburg) and buy some manga. I think I'll purchase 5 FMA and maybe one from a new series. But WHY does it have to be so damn expensive to buy manga?!?

Well, hello again Booklover!

Too bad that you have so much to do, but take it easy, ok? It's never good to work too much. I have a really long break now, but still I have to go up at 6 am every morning (I'm working and start at 7) It's kind of fun to earn your own money, but it's really warm outside, around 31 degrees celsius... puh... and as I spend so much time outside when I'm working, I'm starting to get a quite nice tan... hehe

I've started to watch two new series since my last post. First, a really wonderful show called Kare Kano. It's just adorable and too funny... hum, come to think of it, it's a bit like Fruits Basket.
The other show is called Saiyuki and (if I remember right) you told me in one of your first posts here that you had one or two of the Saiyuki mangas. Am I right? If I am, wht do you think of it/them?

No, I'll go to Göteborg this weekend, but I think I've made up my mind about the manga I'll buy. I've decided to purchase 6 FMA and 2-3 of GetBackers. I really have to read the GB manga, so I don't think I'll be able to keep myself from buying them... Oh, my poor wallet!

31 degrees Celsius does seem warm. Is it humid there, too? We’ve had a pretty mild spring so far, which is quite surprising for MD. Usually by mid May the temperatures are around 33 or 34 degrees Celsius and close to 100% humidity. UGH! But the temperatures have been a bit cool so far, but then, we have not hit the summer months, yet!

I’ve seen several episodes of Kare Kano. It is cute and sweet, isn’t it? The station I was watching it on stopped showing the series about 1/2 ways through it and started, again. I’m waiting for them to start showing the episodes I haven’t seen yet, so I can start watching it, again.

I love the Saiyuki mangas, they are great! I wish I was able to see more of the series, though. How many episodes have you seen, so far? Do you like it? I think the 4 guys are so funny and different but they work so well together.

I saw episode 32 of GB last night. Ban is fight Akabane, Ginji is fighting Miroku, who ends up being 2 people (a split personality, I guess), and Shido and Eshime (sp?) are fighting the two bald guys. Ah, I just love the GB! I like Ban’s hair when it’s wet and worn down; though his “spiky” hair is cool, too.

I know what you mean about buying manga and your poor wallet! ME, TOO! I’ve bought 3 more volumes of the Saiyuki and then I don’t have the time to read them! SILLY ME!

Don’t worry, I won’t “work myself to death”. Yes, we have that saying here, too.

Good to hear from you again, Booklover!

Well, this summer has been really warm so far. You see, here in Sweden, we have a quite cold climate (some foreingers even think we've got polarbears walking around in the streets...) and thus, we usually have mild summers. But not this year. The sun is shining too much, but fortunately, it isn't humid at all

I just love Kare Kano! I saw the 13th episode today, but it's so irritating that I can't get the 14th! I've tried for several hours now, but it just won't work... I guess there must be some truth behind "Murphy's Law" after all, eh? Or maybe my lucky star has taken a vacation and deserted me after 17 years of humble service...

I'm glad that you love Saiyuki, as I feel the same way. But unfortunately, I've just been able to get the Saiyuki Reload series... I'm sure you know that there are three parts of the series (Saiyuki, Saiyuki Reload and Saiyuki Reload Gunlock) I've been reading a lot about the shows on the net and honestly, the first seems to be the best. Not that Saiyuki Realod is bad, but at the same time I don't know why I like it so much either... you see, it starts off with a lot of what I think are 'rather boring filler-episodes'. As I haven't read the manga yet, I don't know if they really are fillers, but they have all the characteristic filler characters and plots. They feel like fillers. But I love the show anyway, because the "gang" is so great. I've seen about 15 eps so far.
Oh, I love Ban with wet hair! Why doesn't he wear it like that all the time?!? He is just so cool... hehe
It was when I saw ep 32 for the first time that I really started to understand what an adorable and wonderful pair those two guys are. So funny and caring

I may not be able to post this weekend. I have so much to do. Sunday is Father's Day (do you celebrate Father's Day?). It's just like Mother's Day, but for the father! DUH!

Anyway, I'm fixing several dishes on Saturday afternoon, then going to my parents' home (they live about 30 minutes away from me) on Sunday and will spend most of the day there. Then back home and get things ready for Monday... and work!!! BOO-HOO!

I hope you're well and had a good weekend (and not a too tough Monday). I've been working for more than one week now, and I must say that I could have gotten a better "summer-work". You see, I'm working together with a quite strange guy who always asks very random and personal questions... and sometimes he...hum... well, what can you expect...? Gah! I'm just so tired of it all!!!

Yes, we have a Father's Day over here too, but I don't think it was this weekend... (or at least I hope not, as I haven't even spoken with my dad for more than a week). He is in Germany... and I'm so envious! I'd like to go and watch some football too, even though I'm not very interested.

I've seen all the Kare Kano episodes now, and I just loved it! I was so sweet and cute... why can't reality be like that?? But the end was a bit disappointing, though. Some series just have these very odd and strange endings... to be honest, most of the few shows I've watched have had dissatisfying endings.

Oh, I laughed so hard when I read your post about your co-worker! TOO, TOO FUNNY! It is very odd that he is asking so many personal questions!

That’s cool your father is in Germany to see the games. I hope he’s enjoying himself.

I know what you mean the ending of some series. Like FMA, I did not expect that ending AT ALL. But then, there is a movie that is supposed to tie up the loose ends.

I’m currently watching the following anime: Lost Universe, Maze, Shingu, Gravitation (again), Kare Kano, Piano, SuperGALS, Boogiepop Phantom, Record of Lodoss War, Area 88, Full Metal Panic, GetBackers (OF COURSE!), DNAngel, Princess Tutu, Inuyasha, Samurai Champloo (again), Ghost in the Shell, Kaleido Star, Revolutionary Girl Utena. That’s all I can remember, right now! I get new episodes about once every 2 weeks, so it takes FOREVER for me to see an entire series. I really like Samurai Champloo and Full Metal Panic. Check them out, if you haven’t, already. (You may have seen them and told me, but I can’t remember!!!)

Well, I suppose I can understand why you thought it was funny. It is a rather hilarious situation, really. But.. damn it! He is just so annoying! I simply can't stand people who always see themselves as some kind of superhuman beings, but really are mere idiots... hum, it seems like I've met a lot of people like that over the past few weeks...

Ok, I know that it must be irritating that it takes such a long time for you to finish a show, but I just want to tell you that I envy you a lot. Over here, it is impossible to watch any anime at all on TV... and in my opinion, that really stinks. It'd be so nice if I didn't have to download, because I really don't enjoy breaking the law. But how am I supposed to watch anime if I can't download it, eh? Buy it? - Out of the question with my poor wallet. Rent it? - Impossible here in Sweden. Buhu...
I and some of my friends have come up with an idea. After we finish school, we'd like to open a manga and anime café in the capital. It's just a dream, but it'd be fun. It could be like a manga-library and we could have a little "cinema" where people could come and watch anime every week...

Yes, we have conventions here, but unfortunately I haven't been to one yet. Have you? Maybe I'll go next year, but I don't know... you see, I'm really bad at making costumes and I have no urge to become a cosplayer... But it would be fun to go on a convention all the same sometime, just to buy some manga, anime and other fun stuff.

Well, I saw the final episode of the Venus de Milo arc. It was pretty good. Like I said before, I love Ban with wet hair. And Kazuki (sp) was in it, too! He saved the day when he showed up in the speed boat. I actually laughed LOUDLY during the scene when they had to lighten the boat's load because they were leaking fuel. When I saw Gingi throwing the "wrapped" items overboard, I actually rewound and played it, again. I said to myself, "Oh, my gosh, he's thrown the arms overboard!" TOO FUNNY.

The last scene was kind of sad, too. When the two "lovers" were brought back together. (As always, I've forgotten their names.) It was the artist, who was in the wheelchair, and the woman who had the "arms". It was very touching and they were crying at the end.

I have never been to a convention but would like to attend one year. I don't have the nerve to dress up, though! I would like to drag someone with me, though. I think it would be fun to share the excitement with someone.

Well, let me know what you decide to watch next.

Hehe... You know, I really don't know how to thank you for all the shows you've made me watch. It's just great that you tell me about the shows you like the most! I'm especially grateful at the moment, because I just watched the last Samurai Champloo episode. And, to put it shortly, it "äger", which means that I think it's probably one of the best series ever. The background-animation was simply breathtaking and absolutely wonderful

I downloaded the first episode yesterday and after I watched it, I couldn't stop. So I downloaded the whole series in just a few hours... It might even be a record for me, as I usually take things more slowly. I love this show! It's really great to finally see a show with two not-very-nice-but-likable-characters for a change. I don't think anybody'd call Mugen a good-guy... hehe. Thanks again for recommending this awesome show!

It's great that you've seen another GB episode! You saw ep nr. 33, right? If so, you'll get a surprise when you see the next episode... I'll not spoil it, but the first time I saw it, I got a bit worried for a minute or two...

Oh, I’m so glad you have enjoyed those shows! I don’t feel like I’m an expert on anime (I mean, I’ve read post where people discuss the voice actors and stuff. I don’t know that kind of information!) But I do know what I enjoy and am more than happy to share it. I love talking to you about anime, too!

I just loved SC! My favorite character was Jin, the quiet but deadly type. He’s just awesome. I think my favorite episode is the one named Gamblers and Gallantry. Jin helps the woman escape from the house of prostitution. I cried at the end when she was on the boat and reached out to him. She just missed grabbing him! Oh, it broke my heart. I also like Jin when it’s not in a pony tail. Like in the last episode. It was flowing in the wind… DROOL!!! Ha-ha… I’ve seen some really good screen shots from the series but can’t remember the site. (I have it saved under my favorites on my home computer and I’m currently at work!) I’ll post the link this weekend.

Yes, I did just finish episode 33 of GB. Very good, indeed.

I’m still watching CC, too. I saw episode 19 named Atonement. Aion hurt Chrono and called Rosette Mary Magdalene. Then Rosette transformed though he didn’t want to because it would shorten Rosette’s life. Oh, I cried! I also cried during episode 18 when Chrono told Rosette that he would never let her die! UGH, I hate crying! But to answer your question, yes, I love this anime, too!

Well, even if you don't think you're an expert, you seem to know enough. And who really cares about the voice actors anyway? All you can say about them is whether you like them or not... and if you don't like them, you can't really do anything about that. The most important thing (in my opinion) is to discuss if you think the whole show is great or bad and then why you think so.

Oh, I loved SC so much! It was just great and even though I liked all of the three main charcters, I think Mugen was my favourite. He was just so... hum... cool in a way I can't explain. But Jin was also really great and I loved that episode too! It was SO sad and I also felt like crying in the end...
Hehe... I'll be looking forward to the screen shots... I loved it when his hair wasn't tied up.

Well I can just tell you that things will become quite strange in CC soon. I'm glad that I've watched the whole thing twice, as I didn't really understand everything the first time... So if you have any questions, just ask, ok?

I started watching a new show yesterday, but as I'm in my "summerhouse" at the moment, I can't download anything new now. But anyway, the show is called Yami no Matsuei, or Descendants of Darkness. It seems to be quite interesting... But I've just watched about five eps, so I might be mistaken.

Hum... Well, I've been working for three weeks, but yesterday was my last day at work. Which was a relief. My co-worker was as annoying as ever, but I just told him to shut up and keep away from me... hehe... I can be kind of scary at times, or so it seems I hate weird guys with strange questions... and who only have one thing in mind...

Chrono Crusade is wonderful. I just saw episode 20, Temptation. I was shocked that Joshua “froze” Chrono. I was not expecting that at all. And now Aion seems to have Rosette under his spell!

I’ve seen Descendant of Darkness and loved it!!! As a matter of fact, I’ve seen it twice! My favorite character is Dr. Muraki. I don’t know why I always like the evil characters!

For your sake, I’m glad you’re no longer working with that weird person! He sounded very strange and creepy. So what are you going to do for the rest of the summer?

Isn't it kind of weird that you seem to have seen every new show I decide to watch? And you say that you you don't think you've watched a lot of series! Hum...

I think Descendant of Darkness is a good show and I really look forward to see more. The main character (I don't rememder his name) is such a funny person and his young partner is... I don't know what he is, really. Anyway, they're a wonderful team. Is it only me, or do you also think this show is full of "gay-wibes"...? I think it is a bit like Gravitation, but maybe I'm mistaken.

Oh, so you saw ep 20 of CC? Then you haven't got much left at all! The last episodes will go very fast, I think, and I bet you'll cry in the end. It's just so sad... and cute.

I'm also grateful that my work is over for this year. I really enjoy having holiday and just reading and taking things easy. I just love summer! One thing I find really funny is that all of the tourists from Japan always ask me questions about where to go... and I can answer them with a few japanese words! Konichiwa, Dozo, Gomoenasai, Kochi... and so on.

You’re right, it is odd that I seemed to have seen many of the anime you have! Unfortunately, I have not seen the entire series of many anime but have seen partials (like the ones I’m currently watching). Since I rely on TV, I’m at their mercy on what they show. Sometimes they stop showing a series without an explanation! EEK!

I also agree with you about DOD and Gravitation “gay vibe”. I think the Japanese term is “yaoi.” Muraki does have the “hots” for Tsuzuki!! And I love the color of Tsuzuki’s eyes, they are purple! I also think there is some sort of attraction between Tsuzuki and Hisoka; though, I think, it is more subtle than the Tsuzuki/Muraki attraction.

Do you have many Japanese tourists this time of year or all year long? That’s pretty cool that you can speak some Japanese, too! That’s great.

I envy your time off! THE ENTIRE SUMMER!!! I remember those days… Well, enjoy them while you can, cruiseberry, because when you become a “responsible adult” those days are over!!! At least it does over here, unless you’re super rich!

Things here are very busy. I’m working on a big project and we must hire about 10 programmers and get the work done in 6 months!! UGH, the headaches! I’m also fighting a sinus infection, which I think I had last week and didn’t know it! I have being sick but I have so much work to do and I can’t miss work. Well, ADV is having a monster sale through the 5th. I actually purchased some DVD and manga! I can't believe I spent that much money!

I had seen only 2 episode of Saiyuki and really liked it. The Anime Network On Demand never showed more episodes. Well, ADV had the Double Barrel Collections for $12 each (normally costing $29.98 each). So I bought all 6 collections, Saiyuki Requiem (sequel), Voices of a Distant Star (only $7), and for manga, a couple of volumes of Chrono Crusade and Peacemaker Kurogane (since I've seen/am watching both animes, I would like to read the mangas now).

The sale was too good to pass up... I'll be paying for it next month when I get my credit card bill!

I hope you’re feeling better now. I really hate being sick, so I know what you mean when you say that you can’t miss work. During the last semester, I had a though time in school with all the tests we had to take… But fortunately, I don’t have any problem at all with stress at the moment. On the contrary, I have all the time in the world, or so it seems. But it can be kind of boring from time to time. You know, if you haven’t got anything to do. I feel that way right now, as I’m “up north” in my summerhouse and just want to go home again and meet my friends. We’ll visit Göteborg (again) next week and I just can’t wait! I’m going to purchase even more things this time!

You know what? – I’ve been thinkin about buying those double barrel collections too. I just can’t find Saiyuki Gensoumaden on the net, despite how much I try to find it. I think I’ll buy SC too, because I loved it so much…. Oh, damn it, this is going to be expensive! It’d be SO nice if The SF Bookshop had a sale too… But I really doubt they’ll EVER have one.

Yes, we have lots of Japanese tourists. They’re everywhere this time of the year, walking around with cameras in groups and travelling around in big buses. A lot of people come to Sweden in the summer, and that’s good, because if you came here in the winter and then came back in July, you wouldn’t think it was the same country…

Humm… I also love the color of Tsuzuki’s eyes. They’re really beautiful. Good thing that I’m not alone with the gay vibe feeling…. But I wonder if it ever “happens” anything, if you know what I mean. I'm so sorry that I haven't written anything here since last week, but there has just been so much going on. I'm home now (finally) and am able to download like a fool again after TWO WHOLE WEEKS! Frankly, I don't know how I survived without anime for that long... (God, I really am obssessed...)

It's really great that you got your order! I love receiving things I've ordered, because it feels so good to put the new films/books among my other stuff. You have to tell me whether Saiyuki is a good show or not, as I've only seen Saiyuki Reload. I've heard some rumours about a lot of awful fillers in Saiyuki, but let's hope they don't know what they're talking about...
Good thing you liked the GB ep! You haven't got very much left now!

Yesterday, I was determined to get the rest of Decsendant of Darkness, but unfortunately, I was hooked by another show... Gah, I never seem to finish any shows before I start with a new one! This time it was a show called Samurai 7. I don't know if you've seen it or heard of it, but it's a bit like the old movie "The Seven Samurai". And I really love it so far! I guess I kind of like samurai-anime because Kenshin, SC and Samurai 7 are some of my favourites so far. I think I'll try to get a show called Samurai Deeper Kyo next time... And of course finish DoD, CB and Saiyuki Reload

Have you seen any of Hayao Miyazaki's films? A lot of people like them (including me) and they're very special. I'm asking because I downloaded Princess Mononoke today. I've also seen Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle.

Hehe... Water your plants? I hope your plants are ok, because mine are definitely not. I always forget about them and then they die. It's kind of sad, really. I guess I'll have to plant a big tree in the livingroom... It'd be kind of hard to miss or forget about

Did you go to Göteborg with your friends? Did you buy any anime?

With my luck, there will be a lot of fillers with Saiyuki, just like Inuyasha! Ha-ha. Basically, I'm stocking up on anime and manga for the winter. I don't like the cold and most of the time it is very painful for me, so I tend to stay indoors as much as possible. (Of course, I go to work and run necessary errands. Besides that, I stay in; unless we have a very mild winter.) Anyway, I won't be watching Saiyuki anytime soon, unless I decide to get rid of my cable tv, then I'll be forced to watch my anime on DVDs!!!!

I have heard of Samurai 7 and have seen several clips of it. IT LOOKS TOTALLY AWESOME! The character named Kambei seems really cool, but I'm getting this impression only through the official website. You must tell me about this series and how you like it. Samurai Deeper Kyo will be shown here at the end of the month. I'm looking forward in seeing it and then we can discuss it!

I love Hayao Miyazaki's films? This past winter one of the cable channels showed all of his movies, with the exception of Howls' Moving Castle. They are WONDERFUL and so moving. My favorite is Spirited Away. It was just visually stunning. I haven't seen HMC, yet, but it and the others, are on my purchase wish list!

Funny about planting a tree in the living room! ha-ha... You certainly won't forget about it, that's for sure!

No, I haven't been to Göteborg yet, but I'll be going in about... 20 minutes. So I'm in a hurry. I'll be away for about a week and I'm not sure if I'll have any access to the net during that time. We'll just have to wait and see.

Samurai 7 is TOTALLY AWESOME! You have to see it sometime. I've only seen about 8 episodes, but I've found a favourite character and he is just too cool to be true. I don't really know why I like him so much, because he has only said about three words so far. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name . He wears a red outfit, has blond hair and fights with two swords. But of course, Kambei-sama is great too.
The story goes like this: Every year, a group of robot-wariors called The Bandits take (almost) all the rice from a poor village in the mountains. One day, the villagers can't take it anymore, so they send out two girls and one man to search for strong samurai who can protect the village and defeat The Bandits.

It's great that you love his films, as I simply adore them. They're so damn cute! I love them all. It's also great that you'll watch SDK! I think it looks quite interesting. I hope I'll be able to find it, though, because I can't allways get the shows I want...

Oh, I really had a great time in Göteborg and I bought quite a lot of anime and manga. The first show I decided to purchase was Samurai Champloo, so I bought all the 7 DVDs. After that I was planning to buy the whole Samuari 7 series, but unfortunately the shop only had the first and the second DVD...
Then I bought the first Peace Maker Kurogane manga, the first Samurai Deeper Kyo manga and the two first Saiyuki mangas. I just love Saiyuki!!! The reason I didn't buy that show was because my friends bought all the remaining double barrel collections... . But the good thing about my friends buing anime is that I can BORROW IT!!! And that's what I'm doing at the moment... hehe

I'm really sorry that I haven't written much during the last few weeks, but you know... when you have a holiday you cannot sit in front of the computer all the time.
I finished watching Samurai 7 yesterday, and now, I don't know what I really thought about the ending. It was both good and bad. But I'm convinced that I've found my all time favourite anime-character. You know, the cool, red and blonde person. His name is Kyuzo and he is really awesome, but very quiet.

Hope everything is well with you and that you've had a nice summer so far. You just have to tell me if you saw the next GB episode and, if you did, what you thoght about it.

Oh, don't apologize about not posting much. I do most of my posting at work! I know what it's like to enjoy the summer without any worries, so please don't apologize and enjoy yourself!

Oh, your purchases sound great!!! GOOD FOR YOU! I've purchase a couple of volumes of the PMK, too. (I probably already posted that but can't remember!) And of course, I have a couple of volumes of the Saiyuki series, too. I read the first 2 or 3 earlier in the spring and then stopped (I got too busy!) Basically what I want to do is stockpile a lot of manga and anime for the winter because I leave the house only when necessary. I do not like the cold! I will be watching Samurai Deepr Kyo soon (it's going to on TV next week, I think) and I'm looking forward in seeing it.

Once I start re-reading Saiyuki, I'll let you know and then we can discuss it!

Well, I just looked up Kyuzo on Google. Then I found out something really sad happened to him! OMG!

I did see the next GB! Ban and Ginji were trying to retrieve the blood for the little girl who was in an accident. The episode was good but kind of sad because we see some of Ginji's background and childhood, which was pretty sad. The ending was cute though when he was leaning against the tree with the puppy in his lap.

I'll be watching the last episode of Chrono Crusade tonight! I know I'm going to cry!!!

I hope you didn't cry yourself to death when you watched the last CC episode. Even though I haven't got the habit of crying much, I just couldn't stop the tears when I saw them sitting there together, watching the sunset... Oh, TOO SAD!

Yeah, I know... Something really sad happens to Kyuzo in ep 24. I cried then, too. But I knew that was going to happen, as I've seen "The Seven Samurai". But still, I think he could have been given a more "herotic" death, as he is/was such a great swordsman, awesome fighter and cool character. I felt so sorry for him when he accidentally got shot by one of his comrades, without being able to finish his awaited duel with Kambei.

Oh, I remember that GB episode. I thought it was good, especially the way Ginji finished off all the bad guys in the end.

I've seen the 7 first episodes of Samurai Deeper Kyo now. It will be interesting to see what you think about them. So far I like it, but I might have to rewatch some episodes, as I saw them in the middle of the night just to spend time when I downloaded the last Saiyuki Reload episodes. I've seen the whole SR show now and I just love the four of them! They're such a wonderful team. The one I like the most is Son Goku; he is just so cute...

Yes, I cried and I was a total mess. I'm glad Chrono and Rosette were together and they looked so peaceful, too. I cried, too, because I felt so sad for Joshua. He remembered neither Rosette nor Chrono; they were just characters in a story to him. I felt sad for Remington, too. He as stuck on Earth for an eternity.

I will watch Saiyuki this winter, when I'm forced inside! I can't wait to see SDK! I think it starts on Tuesday or Wednesday!

It's been a while now since I posted anything here. I'm sorry. Things have been really hectic over here during the last few weeks, but I guess things are always like that in the summer. Buh... I don't want the vacation to end so soon! Even though I kind of look forward to the new semester, as I'll be studying JAPANESE! It'll also be nice to have something to do, apart from reading, watching TV (and anime), eating icecream and spending time with friends (not that I don't enjoy these things, it's just that 10 weeks is a LONG time) I'll appreciate it when the weather gets a bit cooler too, as I'm really not a summer person.

So, what did you think about Samurai Deeper Kyo? I kind of liked it, but I have to admit it's not the greatest show ever made. It gets rather slow at times and none of the characters has really caught my interest so far.

I started watching a really BAD show some days ago called Weiss Kreuz. It is (by far) the worst show I've ever seen. I don't know why I still watch it... maybe because the bad "story" makes it a bit humorous.. or maybe it's simply because I'm bored and have nothing better to do.
I also started watching a great show called Peace Maker Kurogane. I just love it, but it's too bad youtube.com only has the first 12 episodes... I've tried to download them, but it doesn't work... but I still can't wait to see more of it!

OMG, it has been a month since I've posted on this thread. Though I have posted elsewhere, I just got really behind with GB and chatting with you!

Like you, things got a bit busy for me. Unlike you, it wasn't fun!!! I've been working 12+ hours each day and some weekends. I should be finished in a few weeks, but I'm really at a breaking point now.

The last GB I saw was the episode with the missing baby. The baby's grandfather took him. It was cute, but just another filler.

SDK isn't too bad. Unfortunately, they have not shown the entire series, yet! They have shown the first 12 or so episodes... TWICE; and now they are starting the series, AGAIN!!! GRRRR

I have wanted to see Weiss Kreuz... but now I won't! LOL

PMK isn't bad, I'm collecting the manga now. There were some unanswered questions left in the anime.

Guess what??? I'm taking a Japanese class beginning September 13th!!!!!

I hope you'll get a chance to rest a bit soon, because it really sounds like you'd need it. It does seem very tough having a job like yours... 12 hours every day... I think I'd die from exhaustion in just one week. Not that I'm lazy or anything, but I'm just not used to concentrate on something that long. Heh, I'm as good as "gone" after 8 hours in school.

So you're also going to study Japanese? - That's just great! It'd be so awesome to go to Japan and be able to speak it and understand everything... Kind of like going to an English speaking country, just more exciting.

I started school more than a week ago and it feels good to be back again. But I only have two years left now and after that I'll have to find a job or study even more. Travel around the world for a year or so wouldn't be so bad and after that maybe I'll move tho the wonderful city of London. But who knows? Gah, I don't want to get old.

It must be really annoying that they're just showing the 12 first eps of SDK. I have all the 20 first episodes, but I haven't watched them yet.

You know, now when I've seen all of the episodes of Weiss Kreuz, I have changed my opinion about the show. It's not that bad. Well, it might be, but it's worth watching. Even though the characters are steriotypes and the plot is... ahem... it's still kind of funny and I've read a lot of great fics based on the show.

I started watching a new show called Mirage of Blaze some days ago. I've just seen three eps, but it seems really great so far.
And I've finally read the Gravitation manga! It's just too cute...

Well, maybe I will watch Weiss Kreuz, then, if you kind of like it.

Oh, yes, Mirage of Blaze, very interesting. I had to watch it several times in order to catch everything. There were so many characters. I visited another website where someone was kind enough to type up episode summaries.

There is also an OAV that was a sequel... VERY INTERESTING things happened there.... but I won't tell you!!!!

What classes I'm taking? - Apart from English, Swedish and math I'm not taking that many other classes. I have math once a day and English three times a week. Of course I also study history, science, biology, chemystry and physics, because my school-program is made that way. I don't know how it is in the States, but over here you just choose a "program" and then take all the classes that are characteristic for that specific program. But we can take other classes too, like I take Japanese and drama.

Yes, Mirage of Blaze is great and I'm looking forward to see more episodes, as I've just seen 7 so far. The characters seem quite interesting. I watched the OVA yesterday, I just couldn't wait for someone to upload the others on youtube. It was great and now I think I understand what you thought was VERY INTERESTING... I didn't really understand what happened in the end, though. Kagetora said somethin like: "If you do a great job, I'll let you hold me". The subbers might have done a poor job translating that sentance... I mean... weren't they in love...? I can see why the other guy (don't remember his name) was frustrated about his situation, but why was Kagetora so cold in the end? Maybe I should watch it again and see if I missed something important.

Have you watched a show called Kyo Kara Maoh? I love it, because it's so funny and odd. I've seen the 17 first dubed episodes and I'm downloading the 39 first subed at the moment. It's kind of weird to watch the dubed version when you haven't seen the original... and to be able to eat and watch at the same time, as you don't have to be "glued" to the screen.

I've wondered for a while now if the openings and endings of shows also are dubed or if they're sung in Japanese. If they are, which endings/openings do you like the most?

That is very interesting how you choose a program to determine what classes you take. It’s been so long since I’ve been in school but I think each state has its own criteria. For MD, each high schooler must take “x” number of years of certain courses. When I was in high school, I had to graduate with 4 years of English, 2 or 3 years of science, 2 or 3 years of mathematics… I can’t remember the rest!

I found MOB confusing most of the time until I read summaries on another site. I’ll try to find it and post it for you… if I can remember! What I did get though was that Naoe loved Kagetora in a previous life. Kagetora hated Naoe because he betrayed him. I always wondered if Naoe loved Takaya, too???

I have not seen Kyo Kara Maoh, but it’s on my list of “want to see”.

Of the dubbed animes I’ve seen, the openings and closings are all in Japanese. Wow, what’s my favorite??? That is really hard to answer. I do like the Inuyasha opening (Save the World). I really like the opening to GB (not the song, per se, but I liked the opening scenes when Ban’s eyes change colors, that’s pretty cool). Since I see some shows on network TV, many of the openings are not shown, to save time. Oh, yes, I do like the FMA opening of Ready-Steady-Go by L’Arc en Ciel. I also like the Rewrite song, too.

Too bad you haven't watched KKM, it's just great. Kind of like InuYasha, but better (in my opinion). InuYasha is a great show too, but it's just that every time I see Kikyo, I want to break something. I really hate her. Don't ask me why, because I don't know the reason.

I'd appreciate that link, but you don't have to find it for me if you don't want to. I really didn't understand anything about their relationship. When I first heard about MoB, I thought it would be a bit like Gravitation... But I realised how wrong I was after just a few minutes.

Well, I like many anime songs. I admitt that some of the songs in anime are simply awful, but I usually like them anyway if they're in a good show. My favorites so far must be Kaze no Naka De from Saiyuki Reload, Shiro no Jumon from Saiyuki Gunlock, Haruka Kanata from Naruto and Waraeta Kagami no Naka from Yu Yu Hakusho. The only reason I like that last one is because I made a bet that I could learn the lyrics with one of my friends... and I did it! God, I really am an anime/manga-geek...

I had my first Japanese lesson yesterday. It was great and we got a rather difficult homework. By Monday, we're supposed to be able to read and write 20 hiragana signs... It's just so hard to make them look good and even harder to make them readable.

Thanks! I'll go right over there when I've finished some stuff. It's ok, you don't have to copy the summaries. I join A LOT of sites just to find new sources to download anime and manga from. But unfortunately I always forget what password I used and sometimes even the name of the website! I really have a bad memory.

Of course I've watched Bleach!! I love that show and it's great that it is still running, so I get one new ep every week. I've seen about 90 episodes, I think... But I have to admit that the fillers (they just HAVE to be fillers) about the "bountys" aren't that good. I haven't seen Trinity Blood yet, though. What is it about?

You know what? - I've bought three box sets from ebay for only 1150 kr (approximately 155 USD)and I'm so happy about it! I've never bought anything from ebay before, but when I found these I had to buy them as they're three of my favorites so far: Peace Maker Kurogane, GetBackers and Gensomaden Saiyuki.

I love Japanese, but we have a really weird teacher... Anyway I think I can write most words now, even though I sometimes forget some signs. It's just so great that I (and others who watch as much anime as I do) already know many words and how to ask basic questions.

I'm enjoying Bleach and Trinity Blood a lot. Here is a description about TB...

The background is in the distant future after the destruction brought about by Armageddon. The war between the vampires and the humans continue to persist. In order to protect the humans from the vampires, Vatican has to rely on other allies to counter the situation. The protagonist, a priest called Peter Abel Nightroad, travels through the countries as a representative for the Vaticans. However, he is also part of "Ax", a special operations group controlled by the Cardinal Catherina. His encounter with a young girl called Esther will determine the struggle and survival between the human race and the vampires.

I love things with vampires!!!!!

That is a really good deal you got on eBay. I put some CDs from the Full Metal Panic anime, hoping to find a certain song. Unfortunately, it wasn't on them! I love Peace Maker Kurogane. I've seen it about 2 or 3 times and have started buying the manga. It's great. My favorite character is Hijikata!

I saw GB episode 38. It was good. But I have bad news. I just checked the TAN website and don't see the GB scheduled for October!!! Is the next episode the hospital one? I've been looking forward in seeing it for months since you mentioned it. I'm so sad and angry. I'm going to send them an email!

I'm having fun with my Japanese course, too. We meet only once a week, tonight!! Due to work, I can't work on it as much as I would like to, though.

I can't understand why they decided to 'take a break' with GB right before that episode!!! Totally unbelievable... I just LOVE that episode, it's so wonderfully weird and I really do believe that you'll love it. It's hilarious.

I got my DVDs last week and they're great. I've watched the GB dub and I have to say that it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I really like Ban's voice, but of course the original is better. Akabane's voice is just creepy...

You know what? - I'm starting to like vampires too!

Peace Maker really is a great anime and the manga is even better, in my opinion. Hijikata is my favorite too, I just love his poems!

I've watched two new animes since my last post. The first is called Tactics and I thought it was really good and very cute. The other one is called Ouran High School Host Club and it's probably the silliest anime ever... but I still kind of liked it, except for the awful opening song.

The weather over here is a bit too nice. The summer hasn't ended yet, and that's very unusual. I long for snow, winter and Christmas, as summer really isn't my season. And I have too much homework!

OH, I'm glad you got your DVDs! That's great! I love Ban's voice, too. Akabane's voice is creepy but it fits is character perfectly, IMO.

Aren't vampires terrific?!?!? Ever since I was a kid, I've loved vampires movies and books... and still do! I'm currently reading a series of books by Lynsay Sands. They are about a family of vampires and their love lives! The books are a combination of comedy and romance but they make me laugh and are quick reads.

I just looked up Tactics and Ouran High School Host Club. They look pretty good, so I've placed them on my "wish to see" list.

The Rightstuf website www.rightstuf.com had a really big sale a couple of weeks ago. You can get 10 anime or CD for $50 or 25 for $100! I kept debating on whether I wanted to spend any money (I really need to cut down on my extra spending for a bit). When I finally made up my mind to buy something, they were gone! Which was good, I think. I'll be able to save some more money for the next sale. I was debating to buy one of two series, Gungrave and Last Exile. I was going for the Last Exile, but some of the DVDs were sold out. I've seen the series but would love to see it, again. It's visually stunning. (I'm sure I've posted this once before, but I have a bad memory and I'm too lazy to check my other posts!) So I ended up buying the FMA Complete Best CD (I love Rewrite) and DVD#4 of Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo. I've seen some of it and it looks really good! Plus I love the original book, which was wonderful.

Well, I need to do some yoga, take a bath and watch some anime. I try to watch anime every Sunday, if I can watch it during the week!

Oh, I'd have bought some stuff from that site too if I didn't have a mother who thinks I'm spending way too much money on manga and anime. I usually buy more manga than anime, as the "fan-subs" are better than the translations on the DVDs. But I still want to purchase the shows I really like. I guess it feels kind of good to make a contribution to the makers... maybe it's a way to 'clear my conscience' for downloading as much as I do. And it's always nice to shelve the anime boxes next to my books...
BTW... I bought Samurai Champloo and Samuari X too. They're so great!!! But now I am enduring a minor money-chrisis, thanks to my lavishness... gah.

I looked up Gankutsuou and downloaded the 8 firs eps. It's just awesome! I really like the style of the animation and the story is very interesting, even though it's not anything like the book... which is one of my favorites by the way. Alexandre Dumas was a great author and TCoMC and The Three Musketeers are truly wonderful novels.

Yeah, vampires are great, but I have never seen a vampire-movie that I didn't find hilarious. All the blood and bad special effects... but then again, I might have missed all the serious ones. The books, on the other hand, are IMO better.

You do yoga? I've tried a few times, but failed miserably. I guess I'm not very good at taking things slow and relax. So then I started with Aikido instead. It's really funny and helps me to stay in shape, despite all my time watching anime, reading and studying.

OH, I know what you mean about a "money crunch". UGH!! I need to stop spending money on myself because I've started my Christmas shopping, already!!!

I agree with you about the animation style of Gankutsuou. It's quite unique. I, too, love Dumas' works!!! They are truly, truly great works.

I like the old vampire movies with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing! I laugh at them, too, but I watch them over and over, again!

I do enjoy yoga but have caught myself "multi-tasking" when doing it. I should turn off the tv but I sometimes watch anime when I'm doing it! UGH

How is your Japanese class coming along? Are you still enjoying it? We have learned to write in Hiragana characters but not much with Romanji; so I purchased a book to help me with that.

Oh, you're really out early with your Christmas shopping, I usually don't buy presents until the last week. But then again, you might have more people to buy something for. I only give presents to a few of my friends and my family (except my brother, as we just used to exchange money).

By the way, have you got any news regarding GB? I feel really sorry for you if you have to wait more than a month to see a new episode... I really don't understand how you can remember details about every show you watch. You see, I read some of our older posts and realised that we have discussed anime on this board since March (half a year!) and back then, you told me that you had recently watched ep 26. The next you'll watch now is 39 and that means you have seen 12 more episodes since we started... I admire your memory. I'd forget the characters names if I only saw two episodes a month .
Haha... I'm really bad at doing a lot of things at the same time. But it's even worse if I have to do things I don't want to do...I always end up doing nothing, cleaning the kitchen or taking long walks instead, just to avoid writing that essay... But of course I have to pay for it later... I'm grateful that I'm quite good at writing .

Yes, I still like Japanese, even though my "sensei" is as weird as ever. It seems like we'll have to learn Katakana too now and I'll study it tonight. If it's Kanji you mean, then I'll have to say that we haven't learned any of those yet. I don't think I'll ever be able to learn most of them... They're just so hard to write. Though I know how to write the sign for sky, earth, human, love, crazy/mad/bad, sun, water, mountain... and a few more.

My Christmas list grows every year, it seems! To my friends who are families or married couples, I usually give some sort of food, cakes, pretzel sticks covered in chocolate, Kettle corn. I really don't exchange with my parents unless I should stumble upon something for them. I tend to buy things for them throughout the year and give it to them then. With the way things are in the world, we never know what's going to happen; so I give whenever I can! Plus, I hate crowds. I hate to show when the mall is crowded, UGH!

I haven't heard anything about when the GB will be returning!

My memory is horrible... for important things, like work! I write everything down and then FORGET to look at it!

We had a quiz in our class last week. I did ok, but totally blanked out the meaning of a phrase, we had to translate into English. I wrote, "I know this is wrong because I can't remember it!" My instructor laughed at me!

I think Romanji is like what you had typed before. This is the phrase...

Ja-ne, watshi no nakama! Kimi wa subarashi desu, oboetoke! But then... I could be wrong because I can't remember! HAHAHAHHAHA.... I'm so pitiful...

I bought more manga this past weekend...ugh... I have not money for this!!!

I bought Saiyuki Reload (which is coming on TV in November - YIPPEE), the missing volumes of Vampire Games, Petshop of Horrors, Voices of a Distant Star (I've seen the anime and CRIED. Then I bought the anime and CRIED! I guess I'll read the manga and CRY, again!!! What is wrong with me???) I ordered this stuff from the RightStuf. Then I went to the mall and bought some more Vampire Games and Loveless, volume 3. UGH!!

Well, I better get back to work so I can pay for all these purchases! LOL

Hehe... I feel reeaally happy! I got back a book review today and my teacher said it was awesome! It's just a wonderful feeling to have done something great and be able to reward oneself... with several hours of anime.

I have watched three new short series and they were all good. And they were all shonen-ai... Hum, there might be something wrong with me too, but I really enjoy watching most shonen-ai series. As long as there isn't 'TOO much of the good' (), I think they're usually very cute and funny. The shows are called Loveless, Sukisho and Gakuen Heaven. I saw that you had bought the Loveless manga, is it good?

I'll go to Stockholm again this weekend. And I'm sure I'll spend a ridiculous sum of money this time too... OH MY POOR WALLET!!!!
I think I'll purchase the rest of the "Power!" manga and the Saiyuki and Saiyuki Reload manga. Perhaps I'll buy Tokyopop's new Gravitation sequel, and then the new FMA.... Bläää Buhuhu

I really have to watch Voices of a Distant Star. It looks great. And it's a good thing that you can watch Saiyuki Reload soon! But I warn you, it's not very good at first... kind of slow, really. I almost gave up when I watched episode 6 (I think). It was about a woman who made awful food and... well, long story short; it was the worst anime episode I've ever seen. But it gets better and the next part of the series, Gunlock, is the best so far IMO.

NO, you're not pitiful!! I just misunderstood you. I thought you ment Kanji (you know, those weird, BIG and beautiful signs that are used as words) when you meant exactly what you wrote. I'm sorry, it's just that we write every word we learn in both Hiragana and Romanji. We haven't had a test yet, but I think we'll have one soon. Oh, I really want to learn Japanese! If not fluently, then at least like I already know English and French.

What book did you read? I love to read!!!!

I like shonen-ai, too and there is nothing wrong with that! I have added Sukisho and Gakuen Heaven to my "wish to see" list. I haven't started reading Loveless, yet. I don't know what's wrong with me. I keep buying all this manga but won't sit down and read them. I think I'm waiting for the weather to get colder. I read a lot more during the fall and winter than the spring and summer. I think I've been "stockpiling" my reading material for the winter! I'm looking forward in seeing in seeing the FMA movie. Have you seen it, yet? I've heard mixed reviews about it, but I want to see it, anyway.

I did read a couple of volumes of Saiyuki and just loved it! I can't wait to get and see Reload. I'll remember your advise about Reload and keep watching it, even if it is slow at first. I know I'll break down and buy Gunlock next!!! AAAGHHH!!

Yeah, I've seen the FMA movie. I saw it months ago and I thought it was great. I really liked the way it was animated and the (happy!) end was IMO better than the end of the series. When I had finished watching the show, I thought it left a lot unanswered and I still don't understand why they changed so much of the manga storyline. Oh, the FMA manga is so good!

The book I reviewed is called Outlander and it's written by a Diana Gabaldon. It is the first book in a series with the same name and I have to say that it is one of my favorite books ever. If you haven't read it already, I really recommend it. It takes place in the Scottish highlands and the leading character is a time-traveller.

I'm gald to hear that you haven't got anything against shonen-ai. There are so many great shonen-ai animes and mangas. So far, the one I've enjoyed the most is Gravitation.
It's great that you like Saiyuki. I think it probably is my favorite, but then again, I haven't read that many mangas.

I've started watching a show called Yakitate Japan. It is about bread and it is really funny. When I mentioned this anime at school today, my friends thought this anime suited me only too well... You see, I quite "famous" for my love of all sorts of bread, especially croissants and scones.

I just looked up Outlander and it sounds WONDERFUL!!!! I've placed it and other books by Diana Gabaldon on my "wish list". I love to read. I have so many books that I must keep some at my parent's home! When I have finished reading the ones at home, I'll box them up, take them to my parent's home and return with another box of unread box. But lately, I've been really bad and have been buying a lot of books! UGH!!!

Oh, I love Gravitation. I haven't read the manga, but I saw the anime twice!

Well, I hope you think the books are wonderful when you read them. The first time I read the Outlander, I just couldn't stop reading, so I ended up reading the whole book in one day and one night... Fortunately, it was during the last summer vacation, so I didn't have to go to school afterwards.
I hope you'll like them as much as I do.

I have a big test in Physics tomorrow... gah. I hate that subject, because I don't get it. I guess I'll have to study A LOT today...

My trip to Stockholm was great, but I didn't buy as much as I thought I would. There were a lot of Chinese tourists, which really surprised me. Why do they come in October when it's cold, dark, windy and rainy? Arrg... I'm going slightly mad because of the darkness in the mornings and evenings. You know, it's pitch-black when I wake up and it turns dark again at around 7 p.m.

I haven't watched any anime at all lately, but I and my friends will have an anime-night this weekend.
I have started watching a "real" show called Heroes. So far, (I have only watched 4 episodes) I think it's really good and I can't wait to see the next one.

I'm glad you had a great trip. Perhaps there were a lot of tourists because the travel rates are cheaper during the "off" season?? For example, I know (sometimes) trips to the Bahamas are more expensive during our winter months compared to our summer months. People are trying to escape the cold!

I know what you mean about being dark all the time. We start Daylight Savings time this weekend. We set our clocks back one hour in order to gain more daylight time. I work and sleep such crazy hours, the only time I see daylight is when I look out the window at work!!

OMG, I'm watching Heroes, too!!!!! This is one of a few regular shows I watch. I watch the local news every evening. I listen to an all news radio station at work, so I hear local and national news all day. Luckily, Heros repeats several times each week. I usually catch the Friday showing. I like to listen to the Japanese guys and try to understand them. I pick a few words, but they speak too fast for me to understand.

Because I have a terrible memory, I can't recall if I told you that I ordered some more manga from RightStuf (I think I did, though). Anyway, I ordered 22 mangas and received about 10 in the first shipment. I'm going to stop ordering for now and start reading them. Plus, I need to save money for Christmas shopping.

Well, I have Japanese tonight, so I need to study for a quiz.

Oh, it's really great that you watch Heroes too! I'm just about to watch episode 5 and I'm very curious about what 'Hiro from the future' had to say. He is definitely my favourite character, because he is just too nerdy to be true. I, too, understand some of the things they say in Japanese and I agree with you when you say that they talk very fast. I think everybody speaks their mother tongue quite fast, at least I do so myself.

I believe my test went well, despite my worry. At least I hope I get a VG on it. VG is short for Väl Godkänt, which means something like 'well done'. Usually, I'm not satisfied unless I get a MVG(=Very Well Done), but I guess you can't get everything you wish for in life.

Yeah, you told me about your purchase from RightStuff, but I didn't know that you had bought that many mangas! Almost as many as I bought when I was in Stockholm a few months ago. I love to read manga...... But it's too bad that it is such an expensive entertainment. I'm now the proud owner of 35 mangas and they cost me a small fortune... gah. What manga series did you buy?

Yesterday, I watched some more of Kyo Kara Maoh. It truly is an awesome show and I can't help but laugh out loud several times during every episode. It's just too hilarious... Or what would you think of a "demon sword" that had a scream-mask as a face, was crazy about girls and made sounds like "BUUHHHAAAUU" and "OHHHUAAEEU" all the time?

How was your weekend? Great, I hope! Mine was fine, though the weather was a bit damp. It rained a bit, then it got really windy! BRRRRR!

Oh, Heroes was good on Friday! I liked it when Hiro saw the senatorial candidate (I can't remember his name, of course!) fly in and land on the parking lot! Too funny. Plus, very odd that no one else saw it, either!

And I agree with you about speaking fast in one's native language. When I was speaking French more often, I never had to translate from English into French. I was able to automatically think in French and was to speak quickly. Now, I need to think in English and translate into French (I do the same thing with Japanese). Speaking of Japanese, this Wednesday is my last class. I hope the group can still meet weekly until the next class begins which is in January.

I hope you get a MVG on your test. There is nothing wrong in striving for the best, IMO, as long as one is realistic.

I bought the rest of Vampire Games, Saiyuki Reload, Petshop of Horrors, Voices of a Distant Star. I need to stop buying manga and anime for awhile! Unfortunately, I'm still buying books! I'm going to order Outlander and maybe the 2nd and 3rd books of the series.

Hellooo, Booklover!

You know what? I've found another great manga and anime series!! It's called Death Note and it's SO good and very popular, I think, as they're making it into a real movie with actors... which I think is a bit weird... but who cares? Come to think of it, it's kind of like making the Spiderman/Batman movies. It's just that I'm not used to see "real" people trying to be manga chacters. God, I want to watch that movie and read the manga! I've only watched the first four episodes of the anime and I was hooked from the first ep. It's just so great. I think I'll buy some of the Death Note manga when I go to Göteborg tomorrow.

It's so good to have holiday, even though I feel a bit sick. It's so damn cold outside and it just keeps on raining... brr... I think I'll move to an other country when I've finished school.
I didn't get to sleep much this weekend, because my friend were here and we had a really great time talking and watching anime all night. We watched Kenshin, Sukisho and the end of Yu Yu Hakusho (the only show I've watched that I prefer to watch in English).

The mangas I have are: Saiyuki, Saiyuki Relaod, Girl Got Game (so funny, if you like shojou, that is), Peacemaker, Fullmetal Alchemist, some Bleach, some Naruto and one Gravitation novel... And soon Death Note! I only buy the ones I really like. BTW, I've found a great manga scanlation site, where you can request a manga (any manga) you want to read. It makes me so happy that you're going to read Outlander! I've been trying to get my friends to read them for months. You have to tell me what you think about it when you've read it.

OMG, I've read the first two volumes of DeathNote! Isn't it great? I have a couple volumes of the manga (maybe 8 - I can't remember!) Yes, they did make a "live action" movie of it and I've heard there is an anime, now. I can't wait to see the anime!

That's just great, Booklover! I thought they should start showing some more GB, it would have been kind of strange to stop in the middle of it. So you'll watch episode 39 in only two days... I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

I bought Death Note and it is probably my favorite manga so far. The plot is interesting and to be honest, I don't know whose side I'm on. But there is one thing that made me a bit sad... and if you haven't read the 7th volume, I'll not spoil it for you. After that incident, I don't really feel like reading any more. I'll take a DN break for a week (until the next anime episode is released) and then I'll finish the manga.
The DN anime is awesome! The first episode was aired in Japan just 5 weeks ago, so, unfortunately, I think it'll take quite a long time for it to get showed on TAN.

I haven't read any books at all in quite some time now, except for Three Men in a Boat. I love that book for some unknown reason. I'll try to reread Interview with the Vampire next week or something, if I have time.

I know that it's been a loooong time since I posted anything here and I'm sorry. Everyting has just been so busy over here with all the november tests. God, life can really be hard on you sometimes... I feel like going on a vacation and forget all about derivatives of weird functions, french verbs and dipoles.

How are things for you? Did you watch the GB episode, and if you did, what did you think about it?

I haven't watched any anime what so ever in quite a while, but I have been reading A LOT of manga. I finished Fruits Basket today and it was really good!

I'm so glad that you like Sanzo! He is, in my opinion, the best character in Saiyuki. I love his attitude. But I think it's a pity they made such a poor job when adapting the manga into an anime... not that I think it's bad or anything, it's just that some parts really suck. And it never ends! I've started to wonder whether the show'll just go on and on forever... Because seriously; they've made 51 Gensoumaden Saiyuki episodes, 25 Saiyuki Relaod episodes, 25 Saiyuki Relaod Gunlock episodes and they're not finished yet! And by the way... It's beyond me to see why they did a 100+ anime series based on less than 20 mangas.

Yes, I finally saw the GB's episode and it was very funny! Kadsuki actually looked pretty good dressed up as nurse! ha-ha It was so funny when the head nurse dragged him out of the room and told him he was out of uniform. TOO FUNNY. It was also funny when Akabane showed up and was feeding Gingi apple slices. POOR GINGI!

You're right about Saiyuki being so long! And I thought Inuyasha was long!

I haven't had any time to read since I finished my last book two weeks ago. Several years ago I bought the Complete Works of Oscar Wilde but haven't had the time to read anything, yet. I really want to read the Picture of Dorian Gray. I've seen the movie but have never read the book so I'm really interested in reading it. Alas, no time. I'll be off for two weeks during the Christmas holiday, so I'll have time to read then. I want to see and read FB, too.

Yes, I'm still watching Heroes! What a great show. It seems so many characters have powers.

I know how it feels to be busy. I absolutely detest that feeling and the worst thing is that when I'm busy, I usually get very stressed. Like I am right now. You see, I'll hold an oral presentation in front of my class tomorrow. I'm supposed to talk for at least 10 minutes in English... God, I'm seriously going to choke on my tongue. It's one thing to write and talk to my friends in English, but formal speach is a different matter. Gah! I hate standing in fromt of people!

Anyway, I'm glad you still watch Heores. I hope the next episode is released soon! I can't wait to see what'll happen. Is it ok if I ask you a really stupid question? I hope so. Which one of their powers would you like to have? I'd like to be able to "bend time and space". I can't watch these kinds of series without wanting to be able to do what they do...

As I told you on MSN, I read a new manga called Busou Renkin and it is quite god. I watched the first anime episode an hour ago and it was pretty good too. A bit like FMA in the character design and the story.
BTW, I think the Death Note anime will be aired in the US next year.

I have watched some new Bleach episodes too. It is SO good! I really love that show. Have you watched any Bleach? Sorry if I have already asked you, I don't remeber if I have.

How did your presentation go? I'm sure you were fine and you did very well. What did you have to present? Was it a book report?

I do like the cheerleader's powers with the ability to heal herself. That's pretty cool, though a bit gruesome when she woke up on the autopsy table. They are showing the series from the beginning, again, starting this Friday. I'm going to watch it, too. I'm sure I've missed things the first time I watched it (I always do!!) LOL

Yes, I heard DeathNote will be shown here some time next year. I'm really looking forward in seeing it. Bleach is being shown here, too. I think it's around episode 15. Ichigo and the guy with the glass and arrow (can't recall his name; is it URYU?) were fighting the Hollows. Do you have a favorite character? So far, I like Kisuke, the best. He hasn't been around too much, but there is something about him that I like!

Hi, Booklover!

Well, my presentation went quite well. At least better than expected. I was supposed to be talking about Ireland and ended up describing Irish pubs. Hum. Weird.

Anyhow, it feels great that it is finally weekend again. Just one more week until the holiday, yay! I still haven't bought presents for everybody... and there is still no snow. It is supposed to be cold and snowy this time of the year, grrrr.

Did you know that Death Note is one of the top ranking animes on the animenewsnetwork? I discovered that today and it made me so happy!

Yes, I think he is called that. My favorite character? Well... I really like Urahara Kisuke too (he is just so cool and he gets even cooler when you know about his past... but I'll say no more ) but I also like Byakuya, Hitsugaya and Yoruichi. I'm not sure if you know who all of them are yet, but they are really great characters.

I started watching a kind of strange and cute series yesterday called Honey & Clover. It is really hard to say what it is about, but I recommend it. I has that good "feeling", if you know what I mean.

Oh, cruiseberry, you made me laugh about the pubs! I'm sure your audience found it interesting.

I have completed my shopping a while ago; now I need to wrap everything... which I really hate!

We've had an unusual warm spell lately. So I'm not really in the holiday mood...oh, well. I'll be off for two weeks starting next Thursday... that makes me happy!

I need to look up those other characters. I don't think I've seen them, yet.

Honey and Clover sounds interesting, let me know how you like it. I'm currently watching Brigadoon, Marmalade Boy, GTO, Vamp Princess Miyu, Angelic Layer, Boys be Boys, Kare Kano, Orphen 2...those are the only ones I can remember at the moment!

Merry Christmas, Booklover!

I wrapped everything yesterday and I have to agree, it is very bothersome. My parcels always end up looking like some kind of home-made mess.
There is still no snow over here but, according to the meteorologists, we'll have plenty of snow in a few days.

I've been very busy lately with all the Christmas preparations and I think I've baked enough bread to last until Easter and made Christmas candy sufficient for several families. Gah, I'm sure I'll gain several pounds, (I'm such a gourmand ) but fortunately I'm still quite fit.

I started watching an utterly wonderful show yesterday called Mushishi. I loved it after just watching the opening, it is so beautiful! I only had time to see one episode, but I already know it'll become one of my all-time favourites. If you haven't watched it already, I really recommend it.

You're so lucky to be getting snow soon. They are expecting rain on Christmas day! It has been sooo warm here, though. I just realized that I haven't played any Christmas music at all, yet!!!

What kind of breads and candies did you make? I bet they are yummy! Do you give them as presents? I just finished baking a couple of sour cream pound cakes and a coconut custard pie! I'm so tired now. I think I'll take a bath and then a nap!

That anime sounds interesting; I need to add it to my "want to see list".

I had a wonderful Christmas this year, but I felt a bit sick because of all the food ... I don't know about you in America, but we tend to have around 30 different dishes (and cakes and candies). I stayed up all night playing games with my brother... and slept till twelve o'clock on Christmas Day (we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve).

Well, I made some ice-chocolate, toasted almonds, chocolate fudge, my own very special candy (hard to describe) and some knäck. Knäck is a kind of swedish Christmas candy and it tastes sooooo good! I also made vörtbröd (a dark kind of bread), pepparkakor and around 100 lussekatter (swedish saffron bread). I wouldn't survive without a lussekatt once in a while. Hum... thanks for giving me a great idea! I'll give some candy to my grandparents tomorrow.

Anyway, what was your Christmas like? What kind of presents did you get?

Mushishi is still as wonderful as ever. I have to get the manga.

Btw, have you read the FMA manga yet? I started re-reading it yesterday and realised that I had forgotten very much about it... which isn't very surprising...

Hey, cruiseberry!

Some families celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, too. They go to midnight mass and then open their presents when they get home. With my family, we go to early morning mass and then have dinner together. When my grandparents were alive, we would have brunch at my parent’s home and dinner at my grandparents home. My parents and I exchanged gifts (I’m an only child; I can’t recall if I told you). After dinner we watched TV and I went to bed (I spent the night at the parent’s home) and red for several hours. My mother was sick (she has an upper respiratory infection) so we didn’t do too much. We usually visit other relatives but we stayed home, instead. My parents have given up in giving me presents! I’m so difficult to buy for; plus, whenever I want something, I buy it. I DON’T WAIT!!!! LOL That really drives them and my friends crazy

That is a lot of dishes, 30! to have. I bet they were all delicious, too! OMG, I’ve gained 10 pounds by reading what you had made. Our dinner was very simple this year, we had lamb with various vegetables, rolls, stuffed grape leaves (the menu had a Greek theme to it). My idea, of course!

I did start reading the FMA manga, but work got so busy that I wasn’t able to continue. Since I’m off, I’ll try to read it, again.

Do you have plans for New Years’ Eve? I’ve been invited to a couple of parties, so we’ll see which ones I decide to attend. BTW - guess what book I’m reading?

OUTLANDER!!! I’m only on page 40 or so, but it’s good!

EDIT 1: OK, now I'm on page 315! Claire and Jamie have married! Oh, this book is AWESOME! When she went back in time, I thought Claire was going to marry Captain Randall since Mrs. Graham read her palm and saw that she was going to marry twice.

EDIT 2: OK, now I'm on page 567! Claire and Jamie are heading to his home, Lallybroch! I started crying during the scene when he left her at Craigh na Dun. I paged ahead (I'm trying not to read ahead, but I look for key words to give me a hint of what's going to happen next) and I saw Frank's name, so I thought she was going to return to him. Then I started crying! I was a complete mess! I want her to stay with Jamie. Then she returned to him and it was so sweet and wonderful and I cried even more! Wow, what a mess I was. Another sad scene was when Geilie sacrified herself for Claire and then Claire realized she saw the smallpox vaccination. I ordered the next book, Dragonfly in Amber. Hopefully, I'll get it next week. I'm going to slow down in my reading so I can start the next book immediately after finishing this one. I already have books 3 and 4. Have you read any of the sequels, yet?

I'm so glad you liked the book!!! The first time I laid my hands upon it, I barricaded myself inside my room and finished it within less than 24 hours... I just couldn't stop reading (thank God for summer vacation! ) and I was in love with it from the first page. Since then I have tried to make my friends read it, and I had a feeling you would like it just as much as I did. Who wouldn't like it, I wonder? Jamie and Claire are so adorable together!

I have all the 6 released volumes of the series in English. After reading the first book, I bought (and read) them all in a few weeks. They are wonderful, of course, but in my opinion the first and the third book are the best. The first because it is so mesmerizing and the third because my favourite character appears in that novel. Gabaldon has actually written some mystery stories with him as the narrator and protagonist. I like those very much too and I'm waiting for the next volume (Lord John and the Hand of Devils) to be released and shipped to this cold country of mine any minute now.

Just wait till you read about what really happened to Geillis Duncan...

I had a great New Years' Eve with my friends, we to a Chinese resturant and had one of those eat-as-much-as-you-possibly-can buffets. It was fun... but a bit expensive. As none of us is that much of a "party person", we went to my place after the food and chatted about everything and nothing until after midnight .

Today we will go and watch a musical called Sweeney Todd and eat out AGAIN. I am so broke right now and it seems like everything I do costs more money than usual nowadays... but maybe that's because I buy so many mangas...

Anyway, sorry for being so busy and not writing more than once a week (and for not mentioning anime at all)! I hope you had a great vacation and I hope you get Dragonfly in Amber soon!

HELLO, CRUISEBERRY!!!

I got my books today!!!! YIPPEE!!! Now I can finish Outlander and immediately start reading Dragonfly in Amber. I AM SO EXCITED! I have about 200 pages left to read. The Watch has captured Jamie and Claire and Murtagh (sp?) are looking for him since they know he has escaped. I can easily see how you can read the entire book in one sitting. It is so addicting. I, too, love the pairing of Jamie and Claire. They are wonderful together. SIGH! In which book will Geillis Duncan appear, again? I have 5 books now. I need to pay off my credit card bill before I make any more purchases!

It sounds like you had a wonderful time on New Years Eve. Some years I go to parties; other years, I stay home. This year, I stayed home. I really don’t like driving on New Years Eve… too many drunks are on the road and I feel uneasy driving. The times I do attend parties, I usually spend the night, so I don’t have worry about the other drivers. I decided to stay home! Some friend came over the next day and that was nice.

How was Sweeny Todd? I’ve never seen it but have heard about it. I hope you enjoyed the show.

No need to apologize about posting; I enjoy our chats on any subject. BTW, the next episode of GB will be shown later this month, FINALLY! I’m looking forward in seeing it.

My manga collection has increased, too. So far I have, Death Note, Fake, Saiyuki, Saiyuki Reload, Vampire Games, Peacemaker Kurogane, Chrono Crusade, Loveless, Voices of a Distant Star, Sorcerers and Secretaries, and Petshop of Horrors. I’ve read the first 2 volumes of Death Note and Saiyuki. I had planned to read more this winter but it has been so WARM! So I end up going outside and running errands on the weekends instead of staying inside. Today, they are forecasting the temperature to get to 21 C! It’s crazy! I actually have my windows open. I’m staying home today but I may read outside, though. I should enjoy the weather while I can.

Are you still taking Japanese? My next course begins on January 18th.

EDIT: OK, I finished Outlander last night and it was WONDERFUL!!! I was so sad when Jamie told Claire what Randall had done to him. And then I cried when I thought he was dying. The ending was wonderful, too, when Claire hinted that she was pregnant. What a perfect way to end a book. Tonight, I'll start Dragonfly in Amber. Thank you so much for suggesting this series.

EDIT 2: Have you joined any message boards about the series? I joined the Yahoo one but I really don't care for it; it's not very organized. But there was a mini discussion about Outlander on the Amazon.com site. After I read it, I had to re-read the first 40 pages (not all just parts). The poster wanted to know who was the "ghost" staring up at Claire that Frank saw. The response was the ghost was Jamie! I had totally forgotten that part, so I re-read it! I've read only 20 pages of DIA. It's 1968 and Clair and her daughter have just visited Roger (Whitaker ? - is that his last name? I can't remember).

I'm so sorry I haven't written anything here for almost a month, but please don't think I'm ignoring you. It's just that so much has been going on... I hope you can forgive me.

It makes me so happy that you like Diana Gabaldon's books! Maybe you have read a few of them by now? If you have, which one have you enjoy the most so far? My favorites are the first and the third and my favorite character is Lord John. He just has such an... well, interesting personality.

No, I haven't joined any message boards about the series, but I do visit Gabaldon's official site on a regular basis, just to see whether something new has come up... Like new Lord John stories or information about the may-or-may-not-be-produced movie. If I have understod the situation correctly, there have been some suggestions about making a film version out of the first book, but I don't know if the site I got the information from was reliable.
You know, the way you seem to like these books makes me want to give you another book recommendation. Have you read any of Laurie R. King's books? I'm very fond of them all and for years I've tried to get somebody to read them. They are full of suspense, surprises and intelligent conversations.

Wow, you have quite a collection of mangas yourself. Would you recommend Pet Shop of Horrors and FAKE? Or some other manga, maybe? You see, I'm trying to descide which new manga series I should buy after buying the first volume of Wild Adapter...

Unfortunately, we haven't had any high temperatures here for quite some time now. I say unfortunately because after almost two months of snow, it begins to get on one's nerves... at least every morning when I have to walk all the way to school, unless I want to kill myself while riding my bike in the frozen streets. But I guess I should be thankful that we have any snow at all nowadays.

Yes, I'm still taking Japanese. I really enjoy learning it, but the weird thing it that almost every lesson, I surprise myself and my teacher by using these random and kind of odd words that I have picked up while watching anime... Like a lot of not very nice ways to address my friends, as a joke of course. How is you course going?

I really want to go to Japan! Ahem.

BTW, you really have to watch Ouran High School Host Club. I re-watched it last weekend with some of my friends and we alomst died of laughter. It is just so hilariously twisted and wonderful. I bet you would love it as much as I do.

Don’t worry about the posting lag. I know you’re busy and I haven’t been posting as much as I usually do. As always, I enjoy our chats!

Unfortunately, work has been really hectic, so I’m still reading Dragonfly in Amber. I’m almost ½ way finished. Jonathan Randall has appeared and Jamie was going to kill him! I was so afraid that Jamie was going to leave Claire… but we know that can’t happen or there wouldn’t be any more books about them, right?

I have read a couple of Laurie R. King’s books! I think the first 3 and they are wonderful. I’m so glad Mary and Sherlock married. I need to continue the series. UGH.. more books to add to my ever increasing wish list!

Mangas, mangas…..well, though I have collected some, I have, yet to finish reading any! I started DeathNote and stopped reading it….I started Saiyuki and stopped reading it….I started Saiyuki Reload and …. SURPRISE… am still reading it! I’m reading volume 5 and should receive volume 6 in the mail soon. I’ve glanced through Pet Shop of Horrors and would recommend it. I’ve seen a little of Fake and laughed… it looks… interesting! (I don’t know why I never finished those other mangas… oh, wait, yes, I do. I was reading them during the summer and wanted to be outside more. I do a lot of reading during the winter when it’s cold and slack off during the summer. That is when I started to read them and stopped. Truthfully, I have too many books I want to read and not enough time. )

Unfortunately, my second Japanese class had to be cancelled because not enough people signed up for it. I’m going to register again in the spring. Hopefully enough people will sign up so we can have a class. In the mean time I review on my own and have been using an online site for pronunciation. That is wonderful how you are picking up words by watching anime! BRAVO!!!!

I haven’t seen Ouran High School Host Club, yet. Hopefully, they’ll show it on TV soon. Oh, speaking of TV (duh), another reason why I’m continuing with Saiyuki Reload is because it was shown on TV a couple of times and I wanted to compare the anime to the manga. As always, there is more to the manga (which is really good, btw). I just love Sanzo; he is just too cool for words! (I saw your post on the book thread and replied to it!!!)

I’ve met another poster who has read the Outlander series. I just love the series. Thanks, again, for suggesting it.

Oh, I will be watching episode 40 of the GB this week. I'll return to chat about it!

It's great to hear from you again. I kind of envy that you're still in the middle of DiA, it is such a wonderful book in so many ways. The worst part about reading good books is that they always end too fast. I really should re-read Outlander sometime soon, as I'm starting to forget a lot about what happens in the different sequels. Heh, I made a HUGE mistake today when I was discussing the series with a friend who just finished the fourth book. I accidentally started talking about something important that I thought had already happened, and now I'm afraid that I might have spoiled the next book for her. God, I'm so stupid.

Yeah, hate Randall for trying to kill Jamie! He must be one of the most dislikeable characters ever and I know you'll be glad when he... ooops, I almost let something slip there for a second But I guess I can tell you that I cried at the end of the book when I read it for the first time.

It's really good to hear that you've read King's books. They are so amazing and, even though I still prefer the original Holmes, I love the way she has made him much more human than he is in Doyle's works. And Russell is a very loveable character.

It's great that you'll watch a new GB episode! I can't really recall what happens in ep 40, but I might watch it again, just to get up-to-date. GB is such a great show. How does it feel now when you've only got ten more episodes to go? I felt really sad when the show ended for me and I still hope they'll do an OVA.

BTW, I really recommend buying anime from eBay. I have bought A LOT of boxsets for almost no money at all and they're all very nice.

Humm, I really don't understand how you managed to stop reading Death Note. When I got my hands on it for the first time, I was stuck. It was the same way with Saiyuki, Saiyuki Reload and Saiyuki Gaiden. I agree with you whe you say that there is more to the manga. I don't think I would have bothered to watch the anime at all if not for the manga. I got Reload vol. 6 two weeks ago and I just have to warn you that it ends in a VERY "evil" way. When I read it, I just had to read the next chapter, and after a while I found a site where I could read the all the following chapters that have been released in Japan. And I found a really good site were I could download Gaiden. Gaiden is the prequel to Saiyuki and it is about Goku's time in heaven 500 years ago. It is SO good, but unfortunately it has not been licenced in the US yet. So if you want to read it sometime, just tell me and I'll give you a link to the site.

Yeah, Sanzo is so...*cough*...hot. I love him and his attitude, but most of all; his fan You saw my post? That's great! I just thought the thread looked funny... and I was a bit bored, so I decided to share my "secret" dream guys with the world. God, I don't know what I'd do if I met a real Sanzo... But then again, he looks kind of Swedish, so maybe I'll get my own blondie someday (just kidding).
