Totally underwhelming losses

Most of these contestants had completely underwhelming losses compared with past seasons. On the plus side, I didn't see anyone who had obviously overdone it and lost way too MUCH weight (as has happened a time or two in the past).'

A real mixed bag. I was pulling for Stephen. Even if he didn't win the money, he won the "who looked the best" contest.

I agree...sort of. I'm wondering if this season was shorter? They kept referring to "12 weeks" and I think in the past it's been longer than that?

As far as looking sickly, I thought Luis did...and had probably over done it by extreme dehydration or something. I'm sure he'll be OK but at times he looked gaunt and absent. To a lesser degree Stephen exhibited the same qualities.

I think the seasons have always been about 12 weeks - it seemed shorter because for the first time we had double episodes every week. Previously a two hour episode would cover just one week, this season we flew through it.

Yeah, people losing 15-30% of their body weight was a big difference from previous years. They might have lost the weight in a responsible fashion, but it definitely made for less dramatic tv. I also didn't have anyone to root for this year, so I was just less interested in general.

I agree. I'm catching up on Hulu now. By makeover week, they aren't near other seasons.
