and why does Jake's Father have to be White? His last name is Long. When I first heard of this show I was excited because I thought FINALLY an Asian male lead. Then you find out that he has a white dad people are stereotyped. I can't believe little kids are watching this crap.

So what she speaks in slang much like spud is the sterotypical dumb kid 'mama trixie' was and is fine as she is in the first animation loop (i stopped watching after the animation changed and only catch occasional episodes when theres nothing on)
Jake has mixed parentage so he can be the american dragon... other wise it would stay in china and wouldnt be as interesting. Long... well who knows where that came from but honestly... the show jabs at americans and other people too but it is a case of perspectives. The dad rocks as a clutz and oblivious couger scout, the grandfather becomes more chinese as the thing goes on and surely if you complain about the father there is definately somehting to say about 'g'
A lot of shows are racist, being disney, take the issue up with them, they would not make it so intentional
Also this is coming from an 18 year old fan of the old animation loop, considering the likes of 'Cow and chicken' and 'the grim adventures of billy and mandy' are on the air, i would hardly call this program crap becasse someones got a chip on their shoulder. it wouldnt be succesful if it was racist or too offensive to eouhg people, complain to those who care and you may acvive something if enough join your views

Uh no, then he'd be full-Asian American.
Being half-white doesn't make you American. Being born in the United States makes you American. The show would not "be in China" if both his parents were Asian. More or less, nothing else about Jake would be different except his ethnicity.

I agree. The stereotypical black girl character was so annoying, just because they ghetto'd her up so much. They took all the ghetto black girl stereotypes and gave it to her. (much like they did with the Proud Family)Also, the Asian boy who acts like hes black and tries to rap and talks with a wanna be black slang? seriously. Then you have the white boy who is pretty much the Ron stoppable type character, goofy, clumsy, pretty much just comic relief, like Jakes dad who is also white. Then there are the traditional Asians who only care about their honor and their traditions. Then they added the typical blonde haired blue eyed cheerleader girl who the main Asian boy falls in love with. Theres a lot of racist things on this show, they even have a whole thread dedicated to it.
