Why did they respell Zzyzx as Zyzzyx??

I realize there are two similarly named films out there "Zzyzx" and "Zyzzyx Rd." My question is, since the road in question is obviously iconic enough in its own little cultish way to inspire the movies (as well as mentions in songs, etc.), why would the producers of "Zyzzyx Rd." feel the need to change the spelling? The "Rd." in the title differentiates it enough from the other, rival movie.

While I have both films on DVD--I'll admit that I have NOT seen either yet. I got them out of curiosity as i will be visiting Zzyzx Rd in a few weeks as part of a road trip/ research for an article for a magazine (on roadside attractions on the way to/from Vegas... I'll also be including the the world's largest thermometer and Alien Fresh Jerky--both in Baker, CA, as well as Peggy Sue's jukebox-shaped 50s diner with its attached park and dinosaur sculptures in Yermo, CA, et.---oooo the thrill of it all. Ha!).

I was thinking about mentioning both films in the article--just not sure why this one had a name change. Any ideas? Thanks!
