Sucks!!!!

Katie have been in some bad ones but this is the worse one yet. Didn't realize the meth man was from Lynyrd Skynyrd. Truly sad movie the script should have told the actors that it was going to suck

Hey Richard Halpern, tell the people who you are: That we had our lawyers stomp on you for having a FAKE lawyer write to us about an alleged patent violation of the title.That we got a signed consent from you to cease and desist your libel and slander. You have been dogging us with a heavy duty campaign of abuse. I will ask the lawyers if you can say this stuff with impunity or if you have to answer for it due to your agreement to stop maligning our movie.

I saw YOUR movie Richard ... I would say to everyone who reads your comments to consider the source. You are great at blowing your own horn, but your movie cannot to be compared with ours.

And YOU did not start the controversy that got us a five-page article in Entertainment Weekly Magazine ... Chud did. Your feigned ignorance of the SAG screening requirements is also very telling.

Now, if I say that "Richard Halpern may be the worst director I've ever seen" ... wouldn't that be indicative of my knowledge of directing? Given your comments about my acting (!), I would recommend that you take some directing workshops and learn what acting is about. I won't bore you with my awards here.

If you can't stand on your own merrits, and you can only win a race by tripping everyone else in it, you have much larger issues. As indie filmmakers, we should be supporting each other. Your efforts have hurt indie filmmaking, proving that there are few real artists in the field. And you know who's dancing over all this? Yup, the studios ... whom you are helping to retain their hold on this medium.

Richard 643, who do you think you’re fooling? I know who you are and what your agenda is. For a person with a lot of time on his hands, you could be working to improve your craft instead of glomming onto other people’s success.

“Zyzzyx Road” is the first movie I’ve directed and it has served me extremely well. Working producers have responded quite positively. It has happily launched my directing career after spending 20 years as a successful (and award winning) writer. Because of the creative success of this movie, I am in pre-production on a movie I will be directing in the fall, all thanks to “Zyzzyx Road.”

Love the movie. Hate the movie. Just check it out for free. Anyone who has done this work as long as I have know that no one makes any movie that everyone will love (although plenty have loved this film.)

IMDB is a fun forum. I think it’s great that anyone with an opinion can post. It keeps things lively... Just be honest about your agenda, Richard.

Um Leo, Mr. Penny:

I love the first amendment. And, Mr. Grillo I am sure does too. As he has ripped into the original, better Zzyzx on several occasions, one of which I have on mp3 on NPR, where Grillo ripped into the better little film. Once this occurred, it was Grillo who began the war of the words that I am ready to defend! And lets face it, there is no such thing as bad publicity (though, not sure if the publicity hurt you; I am fascinated how a movie starring Katherine Heigl, could not get a MAJOR DVD release.)

Re sueing the other Zzyzx film, PLEASE. There was never a threat of a suit. Just a simple test of TRADEMARK folks. I will post this supposed suit online here if requested.

Mr. Grillo, there is no agenda here. As a critic, I am aloud to freely express myself. Libel, slander is done with INTENT to hurt. That is not the case here. I feel the movie and the performances speak for themselves. Are their positive aspects to the film, sure. The trailer, I have told many, was very well cut. Some of the cinematography was decent. However, I felt, the direction especially of the actors, was truly lacking, even from someone as a powerhouse such as Tom Sizemore. THIS IS MY OPINION, given to me and my forefathers! BTW, Im still open to a head to head Zzyzx challenge that I put out there a year ago, though no bite from the other Zzyzx movie. Still open. Imagine that, a double bill! Oh well.

When it comes to the success of your film, are you kidding me, I WANTED IT TO BE HUGE! The success of your film would have driven more eyeballs to out film! Two Zzyzx movies on the shelves, side by side! The confusion of it all! Would've been great! (incidentally, friends, the original, better Zzyzx can be rented/bought at Netlfix, Hollywood Video, Blockbuster, Fryes, Best Buy, zzmovie.com etc). Over 50,000 rentals thus far with the original, better Zzyzx film!

The articles that your Zzyzx movie generated was great press for my film! I thank you very much for this! Oh, yes, I fully understand too that, the movie was a simple SAG screening that is required by SAG. I actually defended that aspect to many persons, that the $30 box-office aspect of this was pure BS).

Mr. Penny, I dont know you and, you sound like a reasonable guy. Didnt mean to offed you in anyway. I simply disliked the film, plain and simple. Understand it was Grillo, as HEARD on tape from NPR and other media, who has personally assualted ZZYZX and myself (however, unlike Mr. Grillo, "sticks and stones...."

SO, guys, how about it? Zzyzx vs Zyzzyx! HEAD TO HEAD death match! Let me know if you would like to play!
