$30 at the box office. Seriously.
You read it right. This movie apparently made, literally, $30 at the box office. That's nuts.

But if that's true, how come 46 people has voted here on IMDB ? Is it avaliable on DVD already ?
In other countries it is. If you read the latest CHUD story about it, the movie never got a domestic distributor for the film, but it has an international one. The director had them put the movie in one theater in Dallas for 6 days. It's on DVD in other countries and been sold for TV as well to foreign markets. So people have seen it, but none of them are from the US.
shareWell... at least 14 people saw it in the US.. 3 from Dallas... probably one Projectionist... and then 10 people who made the movie.

This was actually just on NPR - the movie actually only made $20 (for now).
shareYeah, plus the NPR article mentioned $600,000 in foreign distribution sales so far.
It'll show up on cable someday, if not on the net tomorrow.

How does a movie manage to have, say 5 people go to it in one week? In a city like Dallas no less, maybe some people think "Let's go see a movie tonight" and go to a random one? I mean, 30$ is not shocking, it's just puzzling.
Using the gulliver too much, like?
(Taking it with a grain of salt but) Wikipedia states that it was only aired once a day for those 6 days. Considering they said 6 people saw it, sounds like the sole showings were matinee so it was probably at like noon, lol.
shareyeah I've just heard on italian tv omg
sharemaybe it's just a publicity trick, they stopped the people to go to this movie , to appear the news on every website so everybody now know the movie and going see a more wide release
shareIf it was done as a publicity stunt they would've broken the news a little earlier than 10 months after the 'theatrical run' ended, wouldn't they?
share$30 wow. That's enormous. To some, at least.
In 2005 the movie Cinema Invisible: Brossa was released theatrically in The Netherlands. It wasn't off the radar: the movie was mentioned on the weekly press release from the dutch distributors association (http://www.nfcstatistiek.nl/premieres.htm, which now of course features the current releases) and it got reviews in national newspapers. It had a grand total of 2 visitors! Did I already mention it played in two theaters? Its companion piece, Cinema Invisible: Het Boek did 200% better with 6 visitors (also in two theaters).
No one actually put it up at IMDB I see now.
See, buy, rent the original, better Zzyzx movie at Netflix, zzmovie.com, Blockbuster and Hollywood Video. Just came out this week! Amazing review at dreadentral.com, calling Zzyzx (the Kenny Johnson Zzyzx) the best movie of 2007 thus far.
Enjoy!
